Turn signals & brake lights not working. Tested all fuses, not the brake light switch. Can't seen to locate the flasher relay to replace it. Manual says in one place, mechanic friend says another. Half the dash dismanteled & still can't find it.
More than likely you have a bad ground. Under the rear of the vehicle, behind the rear bumper there will be a few wires running to a bolt in the frame (left side i think) Check that no wires are loose or boken. Also if you have a trailer wiring harness, check to see if it has not been damaged. Let me know if this helps :)
the flasher is a small silver canister shaped metal piece on the fuse box, usually north of the fuses. As these are usually inexpensive, you can always buy it then find the one that looks the same to replace it
Ok, did some research ad found that your jeep has two seperate blinkers, one for the turn signals and one for the hazard lights. Try replacing each of these first. Also, if you hear the usual clicking sound, they are ok. Next, connect a test light to a good ground and probe the fuse for the blinkers. with the key on and the blinker switch off, it should be dark. Operate the blinker switch to see if it lights. if it still does not light, it could be a faulty switch. Also check the numbers for your light bulbs. Tail/brake lights should be a #2057, turn signal lights are #1156

Thanks, I'll check that too. But right now the problem is finding the flasher relay to replace it. I simply can't locate the part!
checked in all the usual places, already have the replacement part. this vehicle seems to have hidden the relay somewhere else.
