Check your brake fluid if low have your brakes checked. The brake ligh on the dash stays on if fluid is low or if there is a pressure differential (leak).
you will have to replace the bulb holder behind the light!! i had a similer problem on my old honda civic they tend to go!!! just simply unclick it from the rear of the light and unclip the connection and replace!! hope this helps
