2005 dodge durango shut off suddenly checked for fuel flow and did not have any. I checked all fuses and relays for the fuel pump all show to have power. I pulled the tank and checked for power at the plug but did not have any power. I have tried resetting the computer and even rechecked all fuses and relays.

SOURCE: Fuel-spit back from my 2005 Dodge Durango

WOO stop there is a major recall with the 05 durangos the check valves get stuck they are recalling the gas tanks on thousands of those car. that is a big fire hazard. Go to the dealer I garente ur vehcle is recalled u may have not gotten the notice in the mail yet. Please rate if this helps.

Here is a copy of the dealer recall notice.

2005 (HB) Dodge Durango
NOTE: This recall applies only to the above vehicles built from October 13, 2004
through November 30, 2004 (MDH101300 through 113023).
The fuel tank inlet check valve on about 18,900 of the above vehicles may stick in
the open position. This can cause fuel to spill out of the filler tube when the
vehicle is being refueled. Fuel in the presence of an ignition source can result in a
fire.
The fuel tank inlet check valve must be tested for proper operation. Vehicles with
a sticking check valve must have the fuel tank replaced.

SOURCE: 1997 dodge ram won't start. My fuel pump does not

First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.

SOURCE: Fuel gauge on 1999 Dodge

The float mechanism (or fuel level sender) on your fuel pump may be stuck or damaged. Attached is a digram of a typical fuel pump that is located inside the gas tank of your Dodge Durango.metrocard.jpg
You will need to remove your gas tank and pull out the old fuel pump to see if this is the problem. If you do this I would replace the fuel pump with a new one.

No power to the fuel pump have checked all fuses

There are 2 relays that control your fuel pump. 1 is a fuel pump relay and the other is a Auto shut down relay or ASD relay.

05 Durango wont crank,

I helped a neighbor, she had a dodge van. She thought the fuel pump was bad, it had set up for months. I noticed the fuel pump and A/C relay were the same. I swapped them out and the van cranked. Just a thought could it be the fuel pump relay.

2005 dodge durango getting no fuel wont start checked fuses and relays put in new relay started right up now two months later same thing this time relay dos not make it start fuel pump not priming put...

Most modern cars are fitted with an immobiliser which could cut the power to the fuel pump relay among other stuff.

The immobiliser should arm when the ignition key is removed and disarm when the key is inserted and switched on. The key has a coded transponder chip inside about the size of a grain of rice and the on-car system needs to recognise the code.

Vehicle handbook should give you more details.

DODGE DURANGO TROUBLE SHOOTING

The power to the ignition coil comes from the Auto shut down relay. It also runs the fuel pump relay. When you turn the key on it will read 12 volts, but only for about 5 seconds. The auto shut down relay is controlled by the ecm. Check the power on the coil while cranking the engine. When cranking the ecm will lock on the ASD relay.

My dodge durango(2003) shut off on me when i was driving yesterday. Engine cranks but doesn't start. Relays and fuses are all good. any ideas?

It sounds like the fuel pump has failed, I'd start by checking the fuel pressure. Turn everything off so you hear whether on not the fuel pump runs when you turn the key to "on". The pump should run for 3-5 seconds and the stop and it won't start running again, until you turn the key to "start".

My durango suddenly died the other day and when i tried to start it back it would just crank and you couldnt hear the fuel pump running, i went back about 2 hours later and it started?? i drove it the next...

Check the fuel pump relay, it should be in the underhood fuse box, and could cause the problem your describing. Buy one at the parts store ( quite inexpensive) and try replacing it before going to the pump itself.

1991 dodge dynasty 3.3 litre,,,,,i replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay in the main fuse box next to the air cleaner. im still not getting any power to the fuel pump.all fuses have been checked.....

Buy a repair manual. It will show you how to jump related circuits and show you related components like the oil sending unit. Which if it became faulty it would shut-down the fuel pump. Too much to fuel system to give one correct answer.
