The wiper arm is held against the glass by a spring-corrosion in the arm doesn't allow the spring to pull it against the glass-in order to position it properly take the arm off,run the wiper while watching it-you need 2 people for this job-noting where it starts from and where it ends at. put the wiper where it looks close to where it should be and try it you may have to reposition it a few times. as far as the wiper arm being corroded-I would replace it. the reason its going down right now is because its in the wrong position from the carwash-these things can be nasty to get off-you can get a tool at the auto parts stores-ie autozone ,advanced auto or pepboys-cheers Denny

SOURCE: remove and replace wiper blade assebly 89 chevy silverado

there is a keeper on the inside of the arm. its easier to get to if you remove the whole arm. lift the wiper arm and near the pivot point there is a little flat bar that sticks out along the arm itself. its about a quarter inch long. pull that out alittle and slide the arm off the peg. makes it easier for me. if you cannot get the wiper off still, destroy it. your replacing it anyway and the arm is pretty sturdy.

REAR WIPER ON 08 FORD FIESTA STICKING CAN HEAR MOTOR WORKING

If you can hear the rear wiper motor working but the wiper is sticking and not moving properly, there are several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
  1. Check for Obstructions: Inspect the area around the rear wiper blade for any obstructions or debris that might be preventing smooth movement. Clear away any leaves, twigs, or other materials that could be hindering the wiper's motion.
  2. Wiper Arm and Blade Inspection: Examine the rear wiper arm and blade for any damage or signs of wear. A damaged wiper arm or blade might be causing the sticking issue. If there are visible issues, consider replacing the wiper blade assembly.
  3. Lubricate the Wiper Mechanism: Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the wiper pivot points and joints. This can help reduce friction and facilitate smoother movement. Be cautious not to use excessive lubricant, as it may attract more dirt and debris.
  4. Check Wiper Motor Linkage: The wiper motor is connected to the wiper arm by a linkage. Check the linkage for any loose or damaged connections. If the linkage is damaged, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
  5. Inspect Wiper Motor Operation: With the rear wiper turned on, observe the movement of the wiper motor linkage. If the motor is working but the linkage isn't moving correctly, there may be an issue with the linkage assembly.
  6. Wiper Motor Replacement: If all else fails and the problem persists, the wiper motor itself may be faulty. In such cases, replacing the wiper motor may be necessary.
  7. Professional Inspection: If you are unable to identify and resolve the issue on your own, or if the problem is related to internal components, it may be best to seek professional assistance. A mechanic or automotive technician can perform a more detailed inspection and provide a more accurate diagnosis.
Remember to exercise caution when working around moving parts and electrical components. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing these steps, it's advisable to consult with a professional mechanic or take your vehicle to an authorized service center for further assistance.

Why is my rear wiper arm pointing toward the ground and won't stay up on the glass? My child decided to use the rear wiper arm as a monkey bar and pulled it all the way down, so it points straight to

It could be that the wiper arm need replacing as there are serrations on the motor shaft and these hold the arm in place so try a new arm .

Rear wiper blade disconnected...how do we fix?

Have to remove the wiper arm & see if the splines are
damaged & if the motor works as it should
There are no easy vehicle fixes
You have to understand how something works & then
diagnose why it doesn't & make the repair
If you get lucky she only ruined the wiper arm &
not the motor or it's drive spline.

If the wipers were jammed two things could have happened to the motor. The first possibility is that you striped one of the plastic gears, or the second more likely option is that the ball joint on the wiper has popped off. Try moving the wiper blades back and forth and listen for a sound like metal scraping or dragging which will mean its the ball joint. To fix it first take off the wiper motor and locate the joint still attached to the blades ( move the blades back and forth till you see it). Once you have found the joint tie some rope around the wiper joint arm and pop the joint back together. I had this happen once with a Subaru during a snow storm.

1998 Avant Rear wiper problem Rear wiper has stopped working. Before it fully died it would try to move but only a fractionbefore stopping. I have removed the motor and directly powered the two outer...

How much current is the motor drawing? Most wiper motors draw between 8 and 10 Amps when they are working properly. If it is drawing considerably less, then the brushes are worn out. If it is drawing considerably more, the armature is shorting.

Testing the motor with it removed does not check to see if it can carry a load. The same tests should be done with the motor installed and carrying it's normal load (including friction resistance from the wiper blade). I have a feeling you will see a HUGE voltage drop between your 1st and 3rd pins if it is tested this way. If so, replace the motor.

2006 CRV rear wiper not working

Inspect the wiper where it attaches to the motor for any broken or missing parts. Also, examine the wiper itself for damage. If so replace it with another from your local auto parts store. Also if you ask, they will install it for you.

Rear Windscreen wiper not working Seat Ibiza 2003

smonahan, The rear wiper fuse is actually a circuit breaker. It will reset itself.
Your wiper arm has probably stripped were it attaches to the motor shaft. You can check by trying to move the wiper arm with your hand, if it moves back and forth, its stripped. A new wiper arm will be needed.
Try it and let me know.
