Take the rear driver side tire off, u shoul see a spigut (like that on the break calipor) to use to bleed ur clutch....u need two ppl for this too... have someone pump ur clutch pedel 3times and hold it on the 3rd pump, take a 10-12mm wrench, and real quickly open and close the spout. do this a few times, if there is air in ur lines, it should "spit" at u a few times... and its a good idea to have a container of brake fluid on hand... You will need it. ( open the front trunk and take the cap of the master sillendor and check and make sure u have enough fluid..... hope it helps and hope u understand.. if not, contact me.... (i just installed a new clutch in my MR2)

When you say clucth is loose you probably mean that you have a lot of free play on the pedal..?

is it hydraulic?

if it is you'll have to bleed the clutch. if it isn't you'll have to adjust the clucth linkage.....

Cannot get it in gear with out jamming it in and it grinds going in.

Year make model?? I'm suspecting a manual transmission. Most hard shifts/hard to get in gear are due to a clutch problem. Suspect a worn clutch/defective slave cylinder/defective master cylinder/ improperly adjusted clutch cable just to name a few

I have a 2000 zx2 escort..the clutch feels loose and cud not get in gear..now the gear shifter easly goes into gear but the car will not move..the shifter feels very loose as so does the clutch..could

Sounds like the clutch friction plate was on the way out when you bought the car. The smell you mentioned was probably from the clutch plate slipping.
You need someone knowledgeable to check the linkage is correctly set up and advise if a new clutch plate is required.

How do i fix the gearshift on a manual transmission

If the gear shift problem you refer to is that it's hard to shift into gear while stopped, the clutch is not disengaging far enough. If the clutch is hydrolic, check the fluid level. You may need to bleed it. If cable, there may be an adjustment you can do at the trans end. Or, another reason trans is hard to shift, the trans has come loose and is binding on the pilot bearing. If you have enough miles, the pilot bearing may be bad. Of course, the trans could be worn out as well.

Hard to shift into first gear

Tighten clutch cable until the car would start to move when the clutch peddle is 50% depressed, Before you do that, with the clutch fully depressed and in 2nd gear, start the car and slowly let off the clutch. You may find that the clutch has to be released virtually all the way before the car moves. It should be at about that 50% I spoke about

2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V clutch sticking and hard shifting

I am dealing with a very similar issue on my 03 Spec V , So far i noticed the clevis pin was loose and the locking hitch pin that slips thru it had fallen out . this caused the gears to not wanna engage due to the bolt behind the clevis which runs to the master cylinder was not getting pressed in when i pushed the clutch pedal in because the clevis pin was slippin on n off giving me no pressure up top .. I had to remove my lower dash panel in order to get visual n hand access to this pin , it is a tight spot to work in as well . May be easist to remove the 4 14mm bolts that hold yur driver seat in to give ya more room to work n stretch out ur arms
