Possible defective electrical connector on the fuel injector due to corrosion of the terminals or pushed out pins Dirty or clogged fuel injector Fuel injector failure
Check for voltage at the injector plug while engine is running, if no voltage present, trace wiring. In voltage is present, check ot replace injector.
Unplugging the the fuel injector's connector had an effect on the engine's idle/stalls (all 4 fuel injectors): This test result tells you that the misfire is either intermittent (not present at this time) or that the problem (causing the rough idle) is affecting all 4 cylinders evenly.
This test result also rules out your Toyota having a bad fuel injector.
You will have to bleed the fuel filters then open the bleed screw on the injection pump. Physically pump the arm on your fuel pump until fuel is present at the injection pump bleeder. Then snug the bleeder closed. Turn the engine over with the starter, while cracking the injector lines open at the injector fittings, one at a time until fuel is present. Once you have fuel, snug the fitting closed and it should run at this point. let the starter rest between bleeding injectors to avoid damaging the starter
CHECK FUEL PRESURE AND CHANGE THE FUEL FILTER IF ITS OK THEN TRY SPRAING EITHER AND KEEP IT RUNNING, IF IT WILL RUN THAT WAY THEN THE TPS IS BAD AS THAT CONTROLS YOUR FUEL AND AIR GOING TO THE ENGINE
the fuel pump circut will prime for 2 or 3 seconds when you first turn on the key then stops until you crank it the circut has to see rpms to continue the pump voltage i would see if the pump works when cranking check for injector pulse
P0296 Cylinder 12 Contribution/Range Fault
Is triggered when the Power Train Control Module (PCM) detects that the acceleration rate of the crankshaft for Cylinder #12 was less than a calibrated amount. During normal conditions the PCM turns the Fuel Injectors ON and OFF in the Fuel Injection System. Symptoms: - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Engine Misfire - Engine Run Rough - Low MPG
P0298 - Engine Oil Over Temperature Condition Indicates the Engine Oil Temperature Protection (EOT) strategy in the Power Train Control Module (PCM) has been activated. This temporarily prohibits high engine speed operation by disabling injectors, reducing the risk of engine damage from high engine oil temperature. Note: On engines which are equipped with an oil temperature sensor, the PCM reads oil temperature to determine if it is excessive. When an oil temperature sensor is not present, the PCM uses an oil algorithm to infer actual temperature. Engine shutdown strategy function is the same on vehicles with and without oil temperature sensors.
Symptoms: - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Lack/Loss of Power - Engine Surge
P0298 is set when the vehicle has been running below 1,000 rpm and less than 20 mg/stroke MFDES with EOT sensor signal reading above 110C (230F). The time to set the fault is dependent on EOT and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) temperatures, and can vary between approx. 15 to 45 minutes
Possible Causes: - Very high engine RPM for an extended period of time. - Overheating condition. - Malfunction EOT sensor or circuit (vehicles w/EOT sensor).
Possible Solution: 1. Inspect EOT sensor circuitry at sensor and PCM. Inspect for damage, loose or pushed-out pins, loose or poorly crimped wires 2. If connectors are ok check cooling system, radiator, fan/clutch operation, thermostat 3. If cooling system is ok carry out KOEO On-Demand Self Test 4. If other fault codes are present after test repair them, if only P0298 is present clear codes 5. Let vehicles sit for 8 hours and then KOEO 6. Monitor EOT in live data 7. If EOT sensor reading is above 110*C(230*F) replace sensor 8. IF EOT is below 110*C check continuous memory DTCs 9. If P0298 is present replace PCM
It is a myth that sugar will mess your car up. Sugar does not dissolve in gas, it will just sit in the bottom of the gas tank. You will need to drop the tank and have it cleaned, and replace the in-tank fuel filter, but anything upstream of the fuel filter will be okay.
