You will have to change the heater core. 9 out of 10 times, when the heater is not heating the air, it is a bad heater core.

SOURCE: heater doesn't work

Sounds like the heater core is stopped up. Try removing the heater hoses and backflushing the core.If this doesn't work replace the core.

squeeze the hoses to get any air bubbles out and refill coolant as necesary. are you sure you put thermostat in the right way? may be backwards. also may be your sensor.

SOURCE: Temperature gauge fluctuates and the heater blows cold air

Definitely check your fluid level in your radiator. Top it off all the way. I've seen that happen multiple times on cars that were low on anti-freeze. If that doesn't work try replacing your thermostat. It's cheap and the easiest place to start if topping off the fluid doesn't get you fixed up.

Toyota Previa fan blows but no air.

It could be that; the FAN MOTOR works but the fan-wheel is not turning. This usually happens when the center spindle of the fan-wheel RUSTS and eventually loses contact with the actual wheel itself.

2003 toyota celica vvtli 190bhp heater blowing col dair only and engine over heating. no signs of leaks oil clean, coolant resivour just above min any ideas whats broken cheers

If it is blowing cold air, that means the coolant level is low, the heater core has no coolant in it. Sounds like a head gasket is leaking.

I have a 1992 Toyota Previa. The heater stopped blowing air. For the last year the fan would only work on the highest setting.... now nothing. Is it the Blower motor, fan relay, or Switch??? Any idea?...

the last year, your blower resistor has been bad, now your motor is bad. rap on the motor and see if it start to run, if so, replace the motor and the resistor.

2004 toyota celica will not blow hot air for twenty minutes

If the engine temprature does not reach the normal level as it used to, it may be the coolant thermostat.

Iif it does, it could be air diverter gates not working properly, cold air blowing at a a light could point to that. The diverter gates are located under the dash.

It also coul be the valuve that controls the water to the heater core, but unlikely cause of the cold air at a light.

Hard starting in morning with a lot of blue smoke from exhaust. Also has lost heat from heater blows air just find but it is all cold. 1994 Toyota Previa

Blue smoke in the exhaust usually means oil is leaking into the compression cylinder and is burning with the air/fuel mixture. This would definitely cause hard starting.
As for how it's getting in there, that depends on how the car has been maintained. How many miles are on it.
First thing you should do is check your oil level. Make sure it's full. Keep track of your oil consumption for at least a week. Knowing how much you are using up can give you an indication how it's getting in there.

This could mean worn rings and cylinder walls or bad valve seals. It could also mean a crack in the block. This might shed some light on the cold air problem as well. Especially if your car overheated recently. Regardless what the cause is this is not a week end job. If your not comfortable with the thought of engine parts laying around find a good mechanic.
I really hope this helps and good luck.
