Those are fuel lines. There are three gas lines, a supply line, a tank return line and an evaperative purge line..The coolant lines are all located in the engine compartment. What is occurring is your coolant leak is dripping onto one of these lines and then following the gas line to its lowest point then dripping off.To check for a coolant leak a specialty tool, a cooling system pressure checker. This will put the entire coolant system under pressure to assist iin locating the leak. This special purpose tool is quit pricey for a non professional VW Tech. Many of the parts houses will loan or rent it to you. If you decide to DYI please feel free to contact me again to walk you through the repair.

Thanks. In further working on this I think the leak is the bottom hose on the reservoir I double clamped it and will test it out today. Thanks Bobby

Problem solved. Over time I suppose the hose on the bottom of the reservoir is too large and leaks under pressure

SOURCE: Wet carpet under front Passenger seat

You have drain blockage in the condesor case itself. There is a small tube that will drain the condensor case, the big black plastic case that contains most of your a/c system inside the car. This case collects moisture and that must drain normally from the case drain to the outside of your car onto the ground.. If this drain is plugged, you will have leakage on to the floor. If the moisture is allowed to remain in the carpet, mildew will set in and then you will have to replace the carpet.

SOURCE: my 2000 ford f 150 is leaking antifreeze

This does sound like a heater core. To by pass it and be able to useyour truck, pull the two heater hoses off there stubs at the firewall (where they connect to the heater assy) and connect them together with the proper size barbed hose coupling and a couple of hose clamps. Now you need to replace your core and clean up the mess the anti freeze is making. If you Plan on doing this your self make sure you have a decent repair manual on hand for your truck.

SOURCE: 2002 beetle. Water on floor/passenger side - Vapor barrier faile

open doors and look for drain holes try sliding a wire into holes does it go in easily? if yes they check door seals for torn of loose seal, is there a sunroof/moonroof does this leak? get in car and have someone hose for awhile and look for leaks with a flash light? if door drian holes are blocked remove panel and clean inside. have you been using a/c? if yes is the a/c drain line blocked and condensation is leaking into cabin, also the front windshield has a grate at bottom remove grate and check channel for blocked drains or leaking seal. good luck on this one of these should be your problem.

Flashing red light mean

A flashing red temperature indicator means your fluid level is low. The 99 beetle takes VW-specific antifreeze; do NOT buy standard green antifreeze for it! Fluid should be added to the round overflow bottle located on the passenger side corner of the engine compartment. Fill the container to the MAX line indicated on the bottle. I use Pentosin Pentofrost SF in mine, available at O'Reilly Auto Parts. As with most antifreeze products, mix it 1:1 with water before adding.

Cars do not normally "use" antifreeze, so if you keep having to add antifreeze, you should check for leaks. Heater hoses or radiator hoses are the most common places for leaks to occur, but the plastic thermostat housing is susceptible to cracking, so check that as well. Otherwise, you could be looking at a leaking radiator or heater core. Worst case scenario would be a leaking head gasket allowing fluid to escape into the cylinders, but that should be suspected only after everything else has been checked. The only other place you would ever see a fluid leak would be a bad freeze plug on the block, but those are very uncommon.

When running my crown Victoria I smell antifreeze is my heater core going up

If the smell is coming thru the vents, it could be the heater core.
The carpet on the passenger side may get wet at some point in time.

I changed the thermostat and put in a new radiator on my 99 hyundai elantra. It drove fine i guess for about a week, but then started overheating again and stopped on me! Any suggestions? I smelled some...

You have some kind of a leak in the cooling systemDo you smell antifreeze when your inside the vehicle dose the heat work alright It may also be an engine vacuum leak you need to start it look under the hood and listen to where the hissing noise is comeing from if its cooling you should see antifreeze see if the floor is wet inside it could be the heater core and check vacuum lines for splits cracks on disconnected lines Ycould check to see if the radiator is holding pressure take a towel and turn the cap see if its under pressure but its going to be hot don;t get burned

Antifreeze/water leaking . puddle underneath van already got new thermostat, radiator is full overflow box full. can't see where leak is coming from. either from below or above view is blocked by other...

May not be either. Does the van run hot? If it doesn't then the coolant when it is heated is going to the overflow reservoir and if that fills up then out the overflow line to the driveway or the garage floor but everything is O.K.

I have a 1999 jimmy with 115,000 miles and I,m hearing about the intake manifolds leaking antifreeze what concerns should i have with my jimmy and what type of antifreeze should I be using

A leaking manifold could cost you a VERY expensive repair. I recommend getting it fixed as soon as you can. And with the antifreeze...seeing how it it a GM it should take DEX-COOL. But look under the hood and look for a white sticker and it should say "This vehicle takes DEX-COOL coolant. Do not mix with any other coolant" and if not the cap for the coolant should say so. If so, then obviously you need DEX-COOL or universal coolant. Universal will not harm anything, but I would use the manufacters reccommendations just on the safe side.

Wet under driver's side floor mat

Is there a sweet smell inside the car?Heater core leak I beleive would be on passenger side floor.Antifreeze will be sweet to the nose. Are you getting any white smoke out the tailpipe? would likely be head gasket leak.Put a piece of cardboard under the car near the radiator and under the motor to see where its leaking from .One thing Ive learned over the years is that its going somewhere. On the ground? Or out the tailpipe.
As for the floor board leak the 98 s were prone to have the defrost area in front of windshield collect water from being plugged up .Mine was passenger floorboard.Daughter resealed small oval vent (that defrosts /heats hood?) LOL .Its on pass. side under hood on cowl .I think this will take care of my problem but you may need to investigate under the dash/defrost area and drill and then install a drain line to bottom of defroster.Exit drain line to O/Side of car...lol .Also was it raining ? was car outside in rain .if so it could be this issue.Sorry so long ,hope you can make heads or tails of this.

My 1999 VW Beetle losses antifreeze.

You will need to look all over the engine with a good light. If it is leaking somewhere, look for pinkish residue. Since your antifreeze is pink, it will leave behind this color. When you find it, that will be the source of your leak. It is probably small right now and evaporating before it hits the ground is why you don't see it.
