Alex....check your fuses...Chevys often have two fuse panels. One in engine compartment, and one one the side of the dash,or possibly under the rear seat...use the diagram on the lid to locate gage/acc fuses...good luck

My gadges on my 2000 chevy malibu keep going off and on. the car keeps moving but the gadges drop. why is this.

Hi, I had the same problem. For my malibu (2000) it was a faulty ignition switch. I replaced it and the instrument panel works fine.

I can start my car but my stereo , ac, auto windows, and gadges in my car wont work. but they work when my key is in acc mode. and my theft system light is on??? how do i fix this???

My guess would be the ignition switch itself since they are working in the axillary position. Never seen this happen personally, but has to be the problem. Don't know the model or year of car your working on, but if it's not a 60's model check your engine compartment fuse box or box's. Look for the ignition switch fuse's. On my GM car there are 2 60amp fuses that run the ignition on controls the starter circuit and the other controls the electrical system. Maybe not exactly how it works but would be worth popping the hood and taking a look at them.

Gadges

If the car is still under warranty take it back to a Chrysler main dealer.

Otherwise it sounds like:

1) a loose connector in the back of the instrument panel

2) cable chafing against the bodywork (intermittently earthing the cabble)

3) an intermittent Alternator regulator fault

The temperature and gas gadges aren't working.

Usually the cause of more than one gauge failing is the small metal can regulator on the back of the gauge case in the dash
