It all depends on the extent of the damage inside the transmission. To find that out the car must be connected to a diagnostic machine. In your case it behaves like the clutch / breaking belt for the second planetary gearing is not functioning so either it or the valve controlling it are faulty - you will have to completely dismantle the gearbox to access it and that's a very big job.
If the damage is extensive it will be cheaper to replace the transmission as a whole - especially if you can buy a second hand one from a breakers yard
