Check the transmission control module and the shift solenoids inside the transmission. They mount on the valve body.

If automatic check fluid levels as required by Owner's manual. no manual, try filepeep.com or manualslib.com
Fluid is ok? you probably need professional inspection hopefully early enough to save the transmission.

It is quite likely to be a failed shift solenoid, causing inability to find low gears. There should be a trouble code stored, causing the O/D lamp to blink.

rebuild the tranny, it's about $2500 . make sure they are reputable company.

Need to adjust the shift cable at the transmission's shift level (Arm)

Make sure your transmission fluid is fully topped up. If the transmission has to speed to build up fluid pressure there will be jolt as the drive is engaged from neutral. Make sure you fill up with the right fluid (use the transmission dip stick tube as the fill point). Also when measuring transmission fluid level have the engine running in 'park'.

O/D = overdrive if i remember right are the vacuum lines connected and not dry-rotted and the fluid levels are correct ...they may very well be right ...as far as the blinking it is a code and many places such as midas will do a readout for free or simply count the blinks and its usually 1 blink or 2 followed by a series of another blinks also it may give you more than one set of codes write them down and look them up on your computer

shift linkage needs adjusting,,could be bent, easy fix, located along firewall to fram beneath the column, ask your son wut he ran over and didnt tell u about... hope i could help...:)

What engine? Rear wheel drive ?Sounds like shift linkage or cable out of adjustment slightly. Have a look at where cable or rod attaches to transmission for adjustment. If not sure of what your looking for get back to me with info.

I HIT A BUMP AND FUEL PRESSURE WENT TO ZERO. IS THERE A WAY TO BY PASS THE ACCIDENT FUEL SHUNT?
