Check for loose wires at the light assembly or connected to the bulbs. if the wires are not loose probably just a blown head light. that year you will most likely have to replace the whole light assembly.

SOURCE: 1997 GMC Sierra Ignition Switch Replacement

take off the cover on the top and bottom of the steering column just behind the wheel. pop the tilt lever out simply just by grabbing it and give it a good tug. then once you have the new switch and you get in there your going to need an inverted torx socket to remove the small bolts that hold the switch to the column. do not move the gear on the new switch make sure it lines up exactly as the old one did!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOURCE: 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup. Windshield wipers, Cruise Control

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

1995 GMC Sierra 1500 3rd Brake Light Cargo Light

This is the only fuse that I can find that deals with the brake lights, but if that fuse had gone, you would have no throttle. My thought is a bad earth. More ideas here. It is a known issue.

Drl work but i when switch the lights all the way on i dont have low or high beams? could this be a fuse, bulbs out or bad switch?

Most likely the switch. If the fuse were bad, the lights wouldn't work all together. Have the switch tested and replace if neccessary.

I have a 1983 Gmc Sierra... when i pull the light switch only the head lights turn on but i can use the turn signals and brake lights they work... hazzard lights work...

The turn signals and brake lights are on a different circuit from the parking lights. Did you check to see if you have power coming out of the headlight switch for the parking light circuit ?

The 3rd/high brake light is not working .. replace light bulb with a new bulb. nothing happened. checked to see if fuse is good couldnt find it.. besides the fuse what could be the problem.. 2001 gmc...

Brake light switch. If I remember correctly, the third brake light works off a seperate circuit from the other brake lights so part of the switch could be bad.

I have a 2003 gmc Sierra none of my brakelights are working I have replaced the brakelight switch and checked all fuses still nothing looked for burnt or raw wires there are none what else could it be

have you checked for a box under the hood on the drivers side, consisting of relays and fuses. i would check for a brake light relay switch, or brake light fuse, hope that this information has been helpful to you.
