what should i do exactlly? just take it off, or replace it for a new one! to my understanding this is not the fuel pump relay. i tried all the relays one by one by turning the ignition key to position one. when i moved out the black double relay situated on the center, i could hear the sound of the petrol pump when turning on the key. but when i took off a double white one on the very right of the console, than the petrol pump stoped sounding. it had a date printed on it. ive had the car to the garage this morning but the guy i spoke with didn´t have a clue. what should i do exactlly? just take it off, or replace it for a new one! to my understanding this is not the fuel pump relay. i tried all the relays one by one by turning the ignition key to position one. when i moved out the black double relay situated on the center, i could hear the sound of the petrol pump when turning on the key. but when i took off a double white one on the very right of the console, than the petrol pump stoped sounding. it had a date printed on it. ive had the car to the garage this morning but the guy i spoke with didn´t have a clue.

in reply to 1 may 2009 you are looking for a large double relay found in the fuse box.in reply to 1 may 2009 you are looking for a large double relay found in the fuse box.

tell all that works and does not work not just the bad
electric and fuses run off huge power buss.
even 10 things off 1 fuse
so telling it all makes the job 10x more easy see?
dim head lamps high and low beams?
horn dead.
but does car start run and drive,???
is key dead? engine dead. , heater blower dead
radio dead. ???????? key starter motor sounds strong and fast cranking the engine to start it?
Several possibilities Darrell. Make sure shift is in park (if an automatic) - wiggle the shift lever while trying to crank engine. If manual transmission, make sure clutch pedal is depressed.
You said lights work but have someone see if they dim when trying to crank engine. A low batt will blow horn or turn light s on but if batt is low the lights will dim a lot when trying to crank.
If you are hearing clicks when you turn the key and if you know where the starter is, get under there and tap it with a hammer. Sounds archaic but when they start to go bad they stick. When you turn the key, the starter acts like the old hand crank you see in movies to spin the engine. When you release the key the starter believes it did its job and goes dormant. Anyway, if you hear clicks when you turn the key and if it starts after hitting it that is likely your problem.
Starter not turning over? Controlled by integrated starter selenoid. SOMETIMES, tapping the starter will cause the selenoid to operate. Assume that voltage (12Vdc) is getting to the starter when the key is in the start position (take 2 people and a voltmeter to check it).
this could be the crank position or cam position sensors. Also antitheft device if installed
If check engine light is on do a self test.
turn key off-on, off-on, off-on. the check engine light will blink out codes in pairs of numbers; 5-5 being the end of the test. Or the codes will display on a digital odometer. Do not start the car when doing the test- just turn key until the dash lights come on then one click back for "off".
Google your findings, if any, for possible solutions.
One way that always works is to disconnect the battery for at least ten minutes. If the cause of the check engine light turning on in the first place is not fixed, then the light will come on again pretty quickly after starting the car. To reset your service light here are the steps.
1. Get in your car and shut the door. 2. Put your key in the ignition 3. Turn your ignition key to position 1 4. Push in your Odometer reset button and hold it in while holding it move the ignition key to position 2 while holding down the odometer reset button. 5. After couple of seconds of holding the button down and the key in position 2 your service light will start to blink once that happens let go of the reset button and start the car.
