My car a/c and my cigarette lighter stopped working

Where is the fuse located for the cigerette lighter

Need to know what make, model an year is this mystery vehicle ?

the cigarette lighter fuse is usually the radio,clock ,instrument panel illumination fuse as well .If these other items are working ok i'd have to say the cigarrette lighter heat element is burned out or there is a loose /disconnected wire to the cigarette lighter socket

bad ground or relay terminal

The inverter caused a short circuit , the insulation on the lighter socket is earthed out or a cable is burnt and earthed out , disconnect the lighter cable, and check if shorted , if not work back to the ignition switch till you find it.

To find the Fuse for your Lighter Take off the Fuse Box Cover ,On the back side of the Cover there will be a Diagram,Showing You Which Fuse goes where and Also Shows you The Proper Amperage,If you Have the User Manual it will also have a Diagram of the Positions of Where Each Fuse Goes.Cigerette Lighter on Some Vehicles Is Marked in Fuse Block as Accesories or Could be a Seperate Fuse for Cigerett Lighter. Please the fuse is cut off and it is located in the car beneath the driver side underneath the steering compartment.

My son had something similar with his rav 4 it turned out to be the alternator which in turn damaged the voltage regulator try a recon alternator first you might get lucky.

if the cigarette lighter stopped working also then I would first suspect a fuse blown. or just a bad fuse connection. try this first. hope this is all it is because it would be an easy fix.

Most likely the fuse is blow. Either a 15 or 20 amp fuse.
Open the glove box and turn the 2 white tabs 90 degrees. then pull the fuse panel down. There is a white card stuck in the bottom of the fuse box that shows what fuse number is the one for the cigarette lighter. Locate this fuse, they are numbered on the fuse box. Then replace it.
