How to remove grill on 1998 Tahoe. Have to replace headlight assy.

The headlight assembly comes out without removing the grille.

HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING

It can be faulty headlight switch or issue with its wiring. Or its faulty head light fuse.

you can but will need to remove radiator and a/c condensor and maybe grill, you need room to slide it out and to use the tool to remove the bearings,also if you are replacing the bearings i would highly recommend replacing the camshaft,also did you replace the oil preasure switch or test the oil preasure with a gauge to make sure you were loosing preasure, or did you do this by the inside gauge. hope this helps.

you need to pull the pins holding in the headlight. push them out of the clip and then pull up once both are removed the headlight will come out and the parking lights/blinkers will come out also

Open rear hatch. Remove two mounting screws at the side corner which mount the tail light assy to the body. The whole tail light assy can now be removed. Twist desired bulb holder counterclock wise to remove, then pull bulb to remove. Reinstall in reverse order.

no you don't. If you open the hood, you will see two rods towards the top back of the headlight. twist and pull out rods to remove headlamps. Good luck. Please leave a rating.

I don't have photos but some basic instructions that might help
Switch is located near the top of the brake pedal, pull off connecting plug, remove locking pin, {may be a nut} remove small push button switch from pedal, assembly is in reverse. Good luck

If its just the bulb you can untwist from inside under hood and replace. If the whole light assembley needs to be changed I am pretty sure it is just like my 98 3500. Lift the hood and remove the screws holding the grill on, then at the bottom of the grill there are screws as well , if I am remembering right I removed my parking lights also. Then the whole grill just pops off, remove screws holding light assembley and replace. Its really easy just take your time and get all the screws out, DON"T snatch on the grill, it will come off easy once you get the all

On a 99 Tahoe Don't remove the grill.. There are two 6 inch long, hex head, vertical screws protruding from the frame above the headlight. To unscrew use a small hex socket.. maybe 1/4 inch. Turn the screws counterclockwise to remove till loose then pull up. The screws serve as a linch pin to secure the headlight to the mounting bracket. Here's a pic of the driver side light. Also, I had very good results with my park light lenses in 5 minutes with a hand drill, a soft buffing pad, and some fine polish. They were yellow and dull and looked clear and white when done. I washed the inside of the lense with soapy water and a soft toothbrush.. it made a big difference.

This is a because you have a bad ground, check you grounds under the hood and behind the grill also, most like problem are most common problem is smallest wire goung to ground terminal on battery. I hope this solves you problem, and happy holidays!
