THE ALTERNATOR PERHAPS IS NOT CHARGING. THE OUTPUT FOR THE ALTERNATOR SHOULD BE 13-15 VOLTS RUNNING.

SOURCE: 2002 lincoln ls engine light

These cars are famous for leaky seals where the valve cover interfaces with the cylinder head, at the spark plug journals. They fill with oil, short the coils and cause a misfire. Driving it any significant distance can destroy your catalytic converters ad unburnt fuel ignites therein, creating inferno-like conditions and a fire hazard too. You'll get a "300 code", such as 301 if cylinder 1 is misfiring, 302 for # 2, etc. Pull the coil off the spark plug for that cylinder and if it is moist at all, that's your issue. Have new seals put in, or you'll just keep blowing coils at $50 a whack.

SOURCE: 2000 lincoln ls charging broblem, will start and

Have you had the system checked to see if altenator is charging? A bad ground connection can cause a no charge or low charge condition.I would take car to parts store and have them test the whole system.

2000 Lincoln LS had dead battery. Put in new one now the horn blares, radio blasts, lights go down. Pressed button on FOB to reset. turned car off and on; didn't work. Unhooked battery and left it.

How much is this going to cost? ????? Without testing to find out what the problem is , no idea . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop an have it diagnosed .

Why don't starting the lincoln car 2002

Not 100% sure what is being asked, but do any lights come on after putting key in ignition? Or radio or any other thing that draws electrical current? If none of these things happen, you probably have either a dead battery or a battery cable grounding issue.

Oh its a 2000 lincoln ls,the car says a bad charging system, with new battery new alternator, nothing is working keeps going out ,lights radio then car..

Sometimes it is something simple. There is a plastic plug-in connection for the Alternator. What happens is the metal contacts ride up inside the plastic and fail to make a secure contact on the metal post inside the Alternator.

Some models have a fuse in the Alternator wires and some report chaffing that breaks the fuse.

If you start with a charged battery and it ends up dead, you still have a short which is not fused.

You need someone to do a comprehensive Electric test. Except for the "stay alive" circuits like clock, alarm system, and computer brain, everything should stay off when it is shut off.

This means that the 2 power types- plus and minus, are always separate until they are switched ON. When you test, you simply go to each fuse or circuit and see whether there is a connection.

Your biggest lines are called fusible links. If they are out, you will not have power to what they attach to. Relays can also cause your problems but are harder to check.

There is no universal answer to your problem. There are trends of problem parts, someone may also contribute this in another post.

Have a 2002 lincoln ls-when i go to start it the alarm will go off

The low battery can cause this, the battery must be fully charged to properly test the alternator. Testing with an inadequately charged battery can lead to the replacement of a perfectly good alternator. Know more diagnostic tools from http://www.obd2express.co.uk

My 2000 lincoln ls battery keeps dying have bought 2 new batteris same peoblem is something draining the power?

Either something is draining the power or your alternator is not recharging your battery. Do you have a DC voltmeter? With the engine running check the voltage accross the battery it should be about 14 volts. If it's down around 12.5 volts with engine running the alternator is not working. If you determine the the alternator is working and the battery goes dead, then there is a draw on the system. It could still be the alternator though, there are diodes in the alternator, a diode acts like a one way gate for electricity. With one bad diode the alternator will still work but, when you shut the car off the alternator drains the battery back down. Something is drawing it down, without testing equipment, you'll have to take it to a shop. Something you could try, after the car has been shut off for while, an hour or more, go feel if the alternator is warm or hot, if so it's drawing the battery down. Disconnect the battery overnight so it doesn't go dead on you.

2002 lincoln ls stereo doesnt work

when you replaced the battery it was very possible that you may have blown a fuse. Check your fuses for your radio and your cig lighter.
