If you get an overflow through the resevior it's often times because the thermostat with stick shut causeing excess pressure. seeing is the car is not overheating this means that the trhermostat is opening but when you get that overflow it's sticking i would replace the thermostat as soon as possible to resolve this issue

I just bought a 96 dodge caravan 2 days ago ive drove 150 miles today and when i went to shut it off it had smoke i raised the hood its coming almost directly from the front of the van i went to leave...

How low was the oil? It could be something as simple as some oil is leaking out of the valve covers and once it hits the exhaust manifold then it starts smoking. Usually smoke coming from the engine compartment is a result of that. Look and see if it leaks any oil while you have it parked in pavement for a while in case it has something to do with the oil change.

Good Luck

Overheated, added antifreeze and water to get home (90 miles). got home and antifreeze was dry again. There doesn't appear to be a leak though??? Thoughts? Suggestions? It's a Dodge Caravan Sport 2000 with...

Fill it up.. Let it get warm parked.. Once hot - shut it off.. if there are any noticable leaks - you wil see it now - while the pressure is up..
If no leaks - could be a head gaskit..
If its a head gaskit & your losing that much coolent - you should see steam or fluid out the exaust...

2004 Dodge Grand Caravan Water pump

If it's red, it's transmission fluid. Coolant would be green. Check the fluid level, don't let it get low, Chrysler minivans are prone to transmission troubles, and low fluid levels over time will ruin a a transmission. And be sure not to overfill, it's just as bad for the trans. Have the leak checked out and repaired, good luck

Overflow losing coolant

this is an overflow tube.
have you checked the radiator itself to see if it is low? need to do this only when engine cool.
if radiator is low and you just add to bottle it will **** it all out until radiator is filled properly.
