Remove both of the ac connections under the hood in the firewall.. use a garden hose on the disconnected pipes and have someone slowly turn the water on...do one side first, then do the reverse side..this will flush the system of build up or corrosion...you should see dirty water, then clean water coming out...reconnect hoses at firewall..cheers

I had this same issue 2004 2500HD duel climate zone. Some times when I hit a bump would go to hot.Turn off truck and restart it was fine.Dealer checked plug in and said wire were loose, then door actuaters was bad.I ended up replacing the heater control myself and it worked fine ever since.

This may be an issue with the actuator wiring harness. There is a known issue of the actuator harness rubbing on an instrument panel brace. This appears to be located behind the glovebox. Would check and make sure this is not the issue you are having. Locate the HVAC actuator harness contact point shown by the arrow in the above illustration. The illustration is of the instrument panel with the instrument panel compartment door opened and folded downward. The actuator harness is located in the left side of the opening in the instrument panel.
