I have a 1994 ninety-eight regency Oldsmobile & the check engine light comes on & its gotten real hot (red hot you can see)at the manifold,and the car misses (jerks),then runs fast (like someone holding the gas down)then it dies.what could be the problem?thanks...

10W30 will be fine for a car with under 100 K miles. I usually go up to 10W40 when driving in very hot temps or when my moter is getting a bit more worn. It takes 5 Qts. with a filter change. 4 Qts without.
is the check engine light on,if so take it by your local auto parts store and see could they read the code for you,if not have you changed your spark plugs lately,get you fuel pump pressure checked?

I assume you mean Supercharged. Look at your engine. If it is supercharged, you will see a large component with a shaft and pulley at the drive belt side of the engine right on top of the engine. It is usually grey or white in colour.
