yes, this is the case of a failed throttle body, in which case it needs replaced, the car is getting too much fuel causing the high idle. this needs replaced asap. you could proably find a small independant honda shop that could do the work for less.

SOURCE: Engine revving itself.

you have to use the original gasket. Use the original gasket on the side of the throttle body, the gasket that comes with the spacer allows for a leak to the idle control valve. you could use the gasket that came with the spacer on the other side, the one on the side of the intake manifold. This solved my problem, if the car still idles a little high then drive it around the block two or three times and that will settle the idle it will clean out the carb spray.

A sudden lose of power and the lights go out on the gear indicator on the dash (the engine is still running though and the radio/lights/wipers all still working).

The sudden loss of power and the intermittent issue with the gear indicator on the dash in your 2006 Honda Jazz could be related to various factors. It might be an electrical or sensor problem. Given the low idle and erratic idle behavior, it's essential to have a professional mechanic or auto technician perform a thorough diagnostic check. Share this information with them for a more accurate diagnosis and potential repair.

Take the car back to the dealer, or if you can get someone to do a scan for fault codes too, that could send you I the right direction. Aske the dealer if there are any ignition switch harness recalls.
