I just had an ignition module replaced on my 95 Buick Lesabre twice. Both modules were bought new and the first one lasted 2 weeks and now the car won't start again with another new one put on it 6 days ago. I'm not an expert on this stuff but it seems to me that the ignition module might not be the real problem. This time there is no check engine light on, but won't start again. Before I get screwed out of another $500, I need to know the possibilities of why this is happening.

2000 Buick LeSabre Will not start Replaced cam

Multiple engine misfire is related to the coils and the ignition control module. I have a 2002 with the 3.8 engine. It has three coils. I just went through this problem. I bought one coil and tried it in each position with no improvement. It was the ignition control module. Mine is located under the three coils. A relatively easy item to replace. Cost about $140.

Installing ignition module

Unscrew the ignition coil(s) from on top of the module...(leave plug wires attached)....and set aside noting coil position on module....unplug module and replace with a known working module. If there is grease under old module...transfer it to new module.Replace coil(s) and start her up.
TIP. While you are there, why not also change the crank sensor (if it not new).....it is THE trouble maker on these engines.

1995 lesabre doing same thing

3.8 litre engines have wiring issue to the crank and cam sensors the insulation breaks down on heavy oil soaked wiring thus not protecting the wires from shorting to ground. when they short no pulse signal is present and car will shut off or not start. Simply cut the old wires and replace with new ones and if possible route the new wires around the front of the engine and then plug them into the sensor. Add split loom to help protect your repair. good luck

My 92 Buick Lesabre just had the middle coil replaced. The other two were tested and are fine. 2 weeks after this replacement I got stuck in heavy traffic. After a while the car started to do the same...

Yes that's a good guess it usually is a ignition module when this symptom you described happens because when the component heats up to a certain temperature threshhold then it fails to perform its major function (capacitance discharge)..

95 Buick Lesabre seems dead, but was just fixed!

The locks don't go thru the ignition switch. Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness.
