That means the linkage rod fell off your key cylinder. (this happens whenever someone tries to steal your car) the push rod presses your ignition switch. If you know how to pull your steering wheel off, you can replace the key cylinder (if some of the casting is broken) by going to a junkyard. Get a cylinder with a key (you can make copies of the new key later) If the key cylinder was ok then just reattach the rod and put the steering wheel back on (being careful to keep the wheels facing forward before you remove the steering wheel so that you put it back the same way)

hi from uk please try this ? with key removed try gently turning steerwheel to the right if you feel a slight spring in steering ? hold on the spring and insert key it should work and release lockand turn ign on ? if steering is springing on left ? try as above the same method not unusual for steer lock to prevent turning key as the steering even in straight position ? the necessity to gently release load on lock is req'd to allow key to turn/unlock the steering lock from the steering column practice doing the above each time you fit key to unlock steering and tuning ign on to start hope this helps

I had the same problem a while back. What I did was disconnect the battery for a minute and I havent had that problem since.

Your battery is bad. If the car runs on a jump and stays running then it is the battery or a weak alternator. Autozone can test both for you and let you know which one it could be.

you can reprogramme this key yourself i think but iam not sure of the sequence ,i think you turn key to acc position 5 time whilst holding the brake pedal down reading the alldata bible it says only programable with diagnostic but it can be done with master key but i have roberto the hyandai man reprogramme keys at the airport parking when the original keys have been lost and a spare cure from the door lock barrel but he wouldnt show me but i am sure he never had a master key and the brake lights were on all the time he was doing it ,as i watched out the corner of my eye pretending to be taking a door lock out for him .

You could take the starter out and take it to a place like autozone and they can test it for free. They even test the system I believe when the car is still running. All stores have different testing equipment.
