The relay is under the right front headlamp assembly and bracket. You can access it two ways. Remove the front bumper facia, headlights, and bracket assembly. The grill is part of the facia and the headlight bracket runs all the way across the front. Or you can remove the right headlamp and use a hole saw to cut through the bracket, it is a plastic material.
I own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. It has about 85,000 miles.
Recently on a long trip, the blower for heat simply went out. I turned
it off, and 20 cold minutes later tried it again, it worked. For a
week. For the past 6 weeks it would randomly go off, I would turn it
off and try again after some time. Usually, it would come back on,
sometimes I had to repeat the process a couple times to get it to work.
However, it went out the other day, and won't come back on. It's not the blower motor, because I remove it and tested.

first is fuses not relays, he fan fuses must be good.
PDC fuse #10 , 40amps must not be blown, under hood PDC box.
4.0L is electric , pcm + relay controls.at 225f most kick on now.
4.7L is hydraulic fan. so must be 4.0L
no engine told or country 4.0 guessed.
most are under hood in the huge fuse boxs.
and the lid tells them all words stamped on its lid.
look there first the PDC box.
i will attempt a guess now,USA 4.0L engine
fan controls, USA LHD ,left hand drive not RHD ,
page 1 cooling , i click fan page. bingo.
The Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) cooling fan relay is located below the right headlamp behind the bumper fascia.
Fan relay is located under pass headlight. Remove light assembly, use 2 1/2 " hole saw to drill hole in plastic housing ,3"from back wall, 3'' from left side. This will put you right over relay. Unscrew two bolts, replace. Relay was $40.... dealer wanted$350 to remove front bumper to replace it.
Check the wiring from the relay to the fan motor, and check the wiring from the fuse block. Basically check all wires that supply power to the fan motor, use a volt meter. Fan Relay (behind headlight, under battery) on the 2001 GC 4.0L are a piece of ****, I change mine almost yearly. The problem is their location, a high heat area prone to the elements. I understand that 2002 and newer, the location was changed and the problem solved. Relay might close the circuit when cold or at reasonable temps, but might open a circuit when it heats up, causing the problem.
