It takes about 2 litres of syncromesh transmission fluid. Usually about $6.00 per litre at your local GM dealer. 96/99 takes syncromesh fluid. 2000 and up uses automatic transmission fluid.

This is a truck not a fwd automatic car.If you dont know then dont answer questions!Flat ground take top plug on side of tranny out and fill till it comes back out with 75w90 or 80w140(depending hot/cold climate)You will need a Special removal tool(huge allen wrench type for the drain and fill plugs on right/passenger side of tranny)

I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM GT and it needs transmission fluid. Do you know where it is located in the car? It is an automatic? I could not find it?

If you look by the Brake fluid reservoir and the fuse box below the exhaust in this area it is a red cap. On these cars it is a sealed system, which means their is no dipstick to check the fluid. To check the fluid it is a lot of work. You have to put the car on a lift or jack put it in gear and remove a check bolt. you really need a manual to do it. Sorry about the pain the tranny is on this car I have one SE1 model

I have a mini cooper 2002 and need to check the automatic transmission fluid. John

There is no dipstick. Nor is it a sealed unit.

You need to remove the splash shield under the engine.
The use a 6mm hex key to remove the fill/check flug from the side of the tranny.. The fluid should be level with the bottom of the hole.

It's all on Page 020-28 of the Bentley Press Mini Cooper Service Manual. Amazon carries it.

If you have a manual tranny, which one do you have? 5 or 6 speed? Again, there is no dipstick, and you have to check the fill hole on the side of the tranny

I have a 2002 Passat wagon, with a1.8 l engine and a 5 speed automatic transmision. By mistake I drained the transmision. |How do do I refill the transmision so that I can take it to a shop to top it up...

Find the transmission filler tube under the hood. Get a funnel, and fill. Do not overfill, and use proper tranny fluid for your cars' specifications. Your user manual should have a capacities index, and the type of trans. fluid to use listed somewhere in the manual. Hope this helps.

How to fill manual transmission fluid on dodge neon 5 speed?

It will be on the side of the transmission just above the halfway point. The plug is usually black or green. You will need to dip your finger in to feel the level the fluid is at. It should be just below the lip of the plug.

How do u fill the tranny differential on a 1996 toyota corolla?

It depends on if have you have a 3 speed automatic, 4 speed automatic, or a manual transmission.

The 4 speed and manual tranny share their fluid with the differential so if you fill the tranny you fill the differential at the same time.

The 3 speed differential does not share its fluid with the tranny. To fill or check the fluid on the 3 speed automatic you will need to get underneath the car. The fill bolt faces the firewall side of the transmission. It is about 4 inches above the differential drain plug. You will need a fluid pump and hose to get the fluid into the fill hole. The fluid you will need is Dexron tranny fluid.

1998 SUNFIRE GT TRANSMISSION PROBLEM

There are 3 transmissions that could be in your car,the 3 speed auto and 4 speed auto overdrive, and of course the manual 5 speed. The 3 speed is designated the 3T40,the 4 speed auto is the 4T40E trans. To check the fluid level, first, the car has to be warmed up to at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The car has to be raised in the air,as there is a steel plug in the trans case that has to be removed to check the fluid level. The plug takes an 11 mm or 7/16" socket or wrench and is located on the passenger side of the trans case, near where the passenger side axle engages into the trans. The procedure is to warm the car up to at least 100 degrees, engage the shifter into each gear selection pausing for about 5 seconds in each gear, then remove the plug.If fluid drips out,it is full.If no fluid drips out,add fluid through the top of the trans after removing the red plastic cap,and make sure to use a long funnel to avoid a mess.Add fluid until it drips out the hole. When done, replace the plug and cap.Just a note,a transmission does not "use" fluid like an engine uses oil.If you have to add fluid, that means there is a leak that needs to be repaired.Good luck
