P1705: Short in Transmission Range Switch Circuit.
So you changed the switch but didn't fix the short in the circuit. Check the wiring harness or connector for a short. Follow the harness and look for chaffed insulation or rubbing.

SOURCE: Check engine and d4 lights on

d4 is flashing as a trouble code for the automatic transmission... i would say without research that it is a code for a transmission solenoid. maybe while washing the car some water got in and caused a short...these solenoids are usually weatherproof....you could try disconnscting the battery for 30 secs..to clear the trouble code and then start the car. remember you may lose your preset info!

SOURCE: where is the tcu in a 2002 honda accord

it is the Transmission Control Unit. you have to find the reason why the TCU is flashing the D4 fault code. not replace the unit. have your vehicle scanned for another code. your transmission or transaxle is giving you a warning that something is wrong .

TCU (Transmission Control Unit) Located behind the Passenger Kick panel. it will have a burnt diode inside and can be purchased on ebay for about 79.00 with exchange.

SOURCE: Check Engine code: P1751 D4 code:

Hello alex, You said " Key conditions I described like e.g. "cold engine" would probably eliminate conditions 4) and 5) or I cannot understand how PCM or hydraulic control can be affected by a cold engine?" O.K. One way a cold engine or lets say, "cold oil" can effect hydraulic controls is, cold oil is thicker oil and "old" cold oil is sticky. This can and does cause things to stick or work slow enough to seem inoperative (in the cold). Now if this was my car I would start by checking for loose or broken wires, at or going to any controls to the transmission. Also if you live in the north, Ice and road salt can corrode wire ends inside plugs. This is one way cold can effect your PCM or TCM is these plugs and or connections at these Control Mods. These controls need to have dielectric grease on the contact ends of the plugs. As this grease gets old it looses its ability to transmit electrical signals. Old grease turns orange to yellow, new grease is kind of a milky clear. The old grease is worse than no grease. So, check any wires / plugs to the transmission, looking for broken wires / corroded ends in the plugs. Clean the plugs of any old grease / dirt / corrosion. You may have a bad Shift solenoid valve or you need to change the transmission fluid and filter. This would be my first steps to fixing your problem. Check this and repost if you find all is well with your wiring and trans. fluid.

I have a 98 Honda Accord vtech 4 cylinder and the check engine light is on I took it to part store and go them to see why it was on and they said it was the vvt solenoid so I changed it and it is still on...

You need to read the ECU again and find out what code it is setting. This will tel you what needs to be addressed.

I have a 1998 honda accord v 6 iwant to sknow where it the tcc or torque converter clutch solenoid in the transmission case i have trouble code p 0740 tcc sol

I am having the same issues with my 98 Accord. The transmission in the car slipped and bucked for a long time, but now it is stuck in limp mode. Most opinions are that the car needs a transmission, but that is horrendously expensive for a 98, so I have been trying other remedies first.

Yesterday, I removed and cleaned the filters behind the lock control/shift solenoid (they were clogged solid), but the car is still more-or-less stuck in limp mode. The lock up control solenoid is the one on top of the transmission directly beneath the thermostat housing.

I need the code for my 1998 honda accord ex 4door sedan vtech i changed my battery nd now its asking for the code

Check for a sticker with the radio code inside the glove box. Some dealers fixed a second sticker in the owners manual. If not available, get the code from a Honda dealer, and be prepared to show VIN number, and proof of vehicle ownership.

ODB2 CODE 1259 2002 HONDA ACCORD

I believe this is a code the VTech engines will set if a oil solenoid valve doesn't open in the cylinder head to provide extra oiling when the engine RPM's exceed 4k. The best I recall the valve in the head is usually faulty if this code is present.

Need to know the right tension setting of the accel. cable of a 98 accord lx vtech cant seem to set it right im burning to much fuel and car is running crappy

Honda does not apply a specification for this.

Tight enough so there is no slack, but not so tight as the throttle is held open.

When im going to change the timming belt i hve 156,000 miles

look in the owners manual and under maintenance it should tell you when to check or change this. Also you can call a Honda dealer and they can advise you of the right time to change just ask for the service department and ask the service shop foreman.
