SOURCE: The Key won't turn in the ignition

The more you use your key, the more the key will wear down overtime. Eventually (especially with car keys) the key will not match up to your tumblers in the lock, and will intermittently not work, and eventually not turn at all. Do you have a spare? if so use it see if it works, then have a copy made. If you don't, call the dealership, have them make you another key, or call a locksmith.

Now if the key won't come out of the ignition, that's a whole other issue, but it doesn't sound like this is the case. Hope this helps you out, good luck!

SOURCE: 2003 Saab 9-3 won't start. Battery appears to be fine.

You could try tapping the starter and/or having it checked by a mechanic. If the vehicle is starting once in a while, have a mechanic check the Crank Shaft Position Sensor located on the Intake Manifold under an aluminum bracket. The wire to the sensor leads towards the throttle body. the connector at the throttle body is blue. This sensor is notorious for giving out gradually. If this is the problem, seriously replace it as the vehicle could die when driving (i've heard, but don't quote me on that). I owned a 2001 9-3 turbo and the same thing would happen until it no longer cranked. I replaced it when i researched the issue on the internet. The car turned on as soon as i replaced it 8) and did not have the same problem again.

Good luck!

SOURCE: 91 Saab 900 Ignition switch is stuck in lockout can not turn key.

Thanks for returning and placing your comments. This "jiggled the key while held the shifter all the way back released!" quickly solved my problem today. Otherwise I was in panic how to move my parked car out of restricted street cleaning side. You should add this to saabsite forum. Saab 9-3, 2002

IS THERE A FUSE FOR THE ECU ON A 92 EAGLE TALON

I don't think so. I got a 95 and I've done all kinds of electrical checking for various things and to my knowledge there isn't. There's fuses for the ignition and engine along with other electrical items but no specific computer fuse that would turn off a computer. I assume the car won't start?

If your car is simply not starting it could be something as simple as the neutral safety switch if you only hear a click turning the key. Disconnect under left side dash. White and has a green and black wire coming from button behind clutch pedal.

If car cranks but just wont start then could be numerous things. Check the 30 and 40 amp fuses under hood. Make sure battery terminals are connected tight and clean with brush tool if needed. If battery is fine and charged, I assume you have checked, then I'd focus on the ignition system.

ignition switch (in steering column)
neutral safety switch (disconnect above pedal)
starter relay (under radio)
starter solenoid
starter

If cranks then neutral, ignition and relay switches are fine
If clicks then ignition and relay fine but neutral switch or solenoid may be bad

My '98 S10 ignition switch will click, then work.

first check all cables for corrosion on the battery. then go under the truck and check all cables that are on the starter. if they are clean then replace the starter because the solenoid is going bad.
