I have a 2003 dodge stratus r/t sedan and while driving it the check engine light came on and I hooked my obd2 code reader to it and gave me the code 0456. I read the articles about the town & country. Could it be the same problem?

well to reset a check engine light correctly is repair the problem to clear code and reboot system disconnect battery both terminals pos and neg for 10 min then reconnect them start vehicle if light comes on have scanned for trouble code
ECM is shorted internally. I've seen it in many makes and models. In different years. If the car runs fine and isn't getting terrible gas mileage. Leave it alone. Just check for codes every couple months, or if the gas consumption goes up. If the light bothers you, do like most, put a piece of tape over it. To fix the problem, you have to replace the ECM and have it programmed.
it sounds like #3 has a bad valve, it could cause the stalling because it throws the engine vacum way off.i had a similar problem with an 06 stratus (4cyl.) once i fixed the valve it ran great.it may not be the cause of your stalling, but you have to fix the valve to start with anyway
It would be normal for the check engine light as well as the other warning lights to come on if the engine stopped running. You could scan the computer for trouble codes if you have access to a scanner or code reader. You would need to find out if you have spark to the plugs and fuel pressure to start the testing procedures.
You did not say what size engine - - I assume it is a 4 cyl sedan since the coupe uses direct ignition. Have you changed the plugs ? Could be a problem with the cam or crank sensor. Is the check engine light on and have you checked for trouble codes ?
With the check engine light on, it means trouble codes have been stored in the computer. Either rent/buy/borrow a code reader or if you can take it down to the local parts store to have it read (usually free). The error codes help point to the issue(s).
Take the vehicle to any auto parts store that offers to read the fault codes with a scanner for free and find out what that code is. If it shows Upstream or Downstream O2 sensor replace the O2 Sensor. There is a catch, dodge had an issue in the 2000 - 2004. The ECM will show a fault code that indicates the Catalytic converter is faulty. This is actually a faulty Downstream O2 Sensor. If you get a Catalytic converter fault code replace the O2 sensor first if you still have the problem then replace the converter.
The only way to find out what turned the light on is to hook up an obd2 reader and then deal with the problem that set the code.Usually the o2 sensor is the culprit and the wires to it may have laid on the exhaust or shorted together, you may want to look at the wires first.
Most likely a o2 sensor ,lean,or rich,a code reader will have to be put on the obd2 connector to read the codes to tell what the code is,if it is a lean indication ,o2 sensor, try replacing the fuel filter.
