State what color the smoke is. White smoke is antifreeze. Gray smoke is fuel, and black smoke is oil. Also have the computer scanned so you know why the light is on.

The 94 model is KNOWN for intake and head gasket problems. Does the smoke smell like antifreeze or are your levels down?

My 94 ford thunderbird will sputter and die when i first start it, and will do it when idling at stoplights, the check engine light will also randomly come on. I've checked the oil and transmissio

check your mass airflow sensor,( located on the air intake line, probably close to where it hooks onto the front of the car on driver side ,should be a square box with wires plugged into it) take intake hose off and spray filiment wire with brake cleaner to clean,do not touch wire with tools or hands it will break very easily ,let dry and replace hose and see if that helps.

Car just started running rough with white gas smelling smoke comming from exhaust

Sounds like head gasket needs replaced or worse one of the heads is cracked leaking antifreeze into cylinder burning out the exhaust, would advise not to continue running as you can lock up the engine if antifreeze is leaking into the engine oil. It will seize the bearings blowing your engine.

Check engine light

there is no reset switch, either take it to a big name auto parts store and have them use a scanner to give you the codes and turn off the light,or just disconnect battery for 3min and the light should go out. the first suggestion is the better, this way you will know what turned the light on in the first place, get back to me if you need more help, please rate my fix
