Idles too high

Clean the throttle body and check for vacuum leaks.The idle air control may be defective.The IAC may also be fine and shutting off the idle bleed port fully,but other air vacuum leaks may be keeping the idle seed high such as hoses,intake gasket and throttle plate gunk.Use a scan tool to read IAC position.

Check for unmetered air entering the engine usually from a vacuum leak. Check all hoses to make sure none are disconnected/collapsed/leaking vacuum under the hood. If all ok, possible idle air control motor sticking resulting in high idle

There should be a diagram somewhere under hood. If not, check shop manual (might be able to just look at one a parts store if you feel it is too expensive to buy).

Check the throttle plates and idle speed control motor make sure there both clean.

Also check manifold vacuum at idle the best you can hold an idle. I have run into timing belt being one tooth off and engine still ran fine. But the vacuum was low that's how I could tell the belt was a tooth off.

why do you want your rpms higher while idling? you don't want them high because your gas bill will reflect that. slow shouldn't matter but if it's dying while on idle it could either be your mass air flow sensor or your fuel filter being clogged

There is a fuel pump relay in the main distribution fuse box under the hood,
But you didn't say whether you had spark or not,
Also you can eliminate the fuel pump by checking your fuel pressure at the reed valve under the hood.

the pcv is under the intake manifold on backside if it is leaking it can cause a high idle but i would check th ecar over for vacuum leaks as this is common as well

did u test for intake manifold leaks? did you disconnect the battery after the cleaning to reset idle speed control system? if u can find no leaks and system was reset then IAC may be sticking.

ok this sounds easy when you ran the vehicle the computer controled the idiling motor now that you replace the idiling motor the computer hasnt been reset to except the new parameters
once you reset computer this should bring the idle back down to its specified idle
you can also adjust back of gas pedel the idle cable and on the throttle body by the idling screw
