To the left of your air box. A bit behind your dipstick. It has a a larger intercooler hose going down from it

sounds like a oil sending unit check the backside of your motor upperside towards firewall on drivers side, looks like a 1to 11/2 inch plugg with 2 or 3 wires comeing from it. it may also be by the oil filter.. if its wett with oil you need to change it, when they go bad you will leave an oil line or oil drip while driving.maby lots of white smoke, you can let the car idol and look underneeth to track it down.. very easy to change. any auto parts stor should have them in stock.. just disconnect the wires and take out like removing a bolt.. then replace. if its on the bottom you may have to remove the oil first unless you want oil everywhere.. i hope this helps

My car is leaking diesel and dont know where it is coming from its a jag x-type 54 model, you can smell it through the heaters when you stop and can see it drip under the engine but cant see where it comes...

most common cause is the leak off pipes that run between the injectors

most likely..it has air in the system...first check for leaks(fuel leak) even a drop per minute can let air the system

Jag X TYPE Diesel Black smoke coming from exhaust on acceleration

i had this problem and thought the fuel filter oil filter needed replacing so i have just had a service done but problem is still there but not as bad. been told it could be the AGR valve or a split pipe going to it which recuirculates unused fuel back to burn again. therefore unspent fuel is coming out of the exhaust causing the black smoke. i am still looking for the answer aswell, hope this helps.

Yes! You will have to remove 4 bolts (15mm Socket) and 6 torx screws (T30). Unclip the front 2 clips and slide the undercover to rear of the car.

2001 jaguar s-type 4.0 oil in spark plug area

Hi bravo956
i also have the same problem regarding the oil leak. this is due to the spark plug gasket leaking and you will need to replace them. they are circular gaskets about 1.5 inches across that fit to the underside of the rocker covers and prevent oil from seeping down the long spark plug hole. when i investigated my leak i assumed it was just the rocker cover gasket that was leaking but once everything was removed it is obvious.

Hi I have the same problem on my 07 plate 2.2 litre diesel x type - oli seal needs to be replaced behind timing cover - the part is cheap at about 16 pound but the labour is horrendous at around 450 because of the need to dismantle so much to get the cover off...

Im afraid you have been ripped off. It is simply removal of the crank pulley and the seal twists out and the new one twists and locks in. Takes about 30 mins to do. I have done many.

Regarding the noise from idle. It will be the crank damper (the aux drive belt tensioner) There is a modified part from Jaguar. Easy job to carry out as long as you have a decent tool kit

Ok so get a big wad of gum and chew it so that its super sticky and then stick in the hole where the oil is leaking from
