The battery is probably badly sulphated and has cell problems
use a load tester to check the battery
after that use a scan tool to reset the ECM program as the CPU is corrupted

SOURCE: 1995 ford escort, alarm keeps going off and car wont start

The alarm brain should not be the easy to locate if stock. Put everything as it was. The alarm brain, control, module or whatever any one wants to call it is most likely behind and under the radio possibly on the floor but in that area. That is if it is OEM if not then it should have been installed under the instrument cluster. I should be a small box probably held with zip-ties and it should have all the information, manufacturer, model and wire functions on the brain. If you think he found the right thing then have him look for the red wire that connects to it. It should have a 15amp fuse on the cable. If its taken out this will disable the alarm. What ever he found should say Security, Alarm or something like that. Not door control or anything other.

if charging light is on w/ engine running, the fault could be the alternator or another component of the charging system.remove, clean and tighten battery post connections to check for alternator output, use a volt meter or multi-tester set to 50 Volts DC,w/ tester on battery terminals it should read 12 volts W/ engine off;13 to 14 volts w/engine running.if voltage increases when alternator is spinning, suspect battery

SOURCE: My Ford five hundred won...t turn over

All indicates to a flat battery. If the lights work or the horn blows, that is no indication that the battery is still good. You need to use a hydrometer to test the electrolyte SG to check if the battery is at full charge.

2006 Ford 500 steering wheel locked or power steering not working. Check system alert and battery light turns on.

Call your Ford dealer and ask them if you car has a locking steering wheel.
Since "forever" ago, there was a were "star wheels" attached to the inside of the steering column, for the purpose of preventing theft by locking the steering wheel when the key was removed.. The bad side was that those locks can jamb if the steering wheel
is at the end of it's travel, such as can happen if the front wheel of the car is jammed against a curb when parked.
Your fix might just be to turn the steering wheel whilst trying to start it, though it may take a little muscle.
God bless your efforts.

What's the fuel pressure Spec for 2005 Ford five hundred?

Not sure what the spec should exactly be. But If you hook up a pressure gage to the fuel rail and turn the key to the on position it should build pressure to around 9bar or 130psi and hold it. If it looses pressure then you have 1 of a few possible problems.
-leak in the fuel line.
-bad check valve in fuel pump
-bad injector

If nothing happens you have a bad fuel pump. But if it does hold pressure then your engine is getting fuel. Now turn the engine over and the gage should read in the range of 18-25bar or 260-360psi. If everything checks out fuel is most likely not the reason for your problem.

How to reprogram a key fob for a 2006 ford 500

You are in luck! You can program a 2006 Ford Five Hundred key fob yourself and don't need to go to a dealer or professional. The steps are pretty easy, it's the timing of the steps that you have to pay attention to. You most likely will not get the programming correct on the first try, keep at it, you will get it.

Here are the key fob programming instructions for a 2006 Ford Five Hundred:
*** THERE ARE 2 POSSIBLE PROGRAMMING PROCEDURES. ***Procedure #1Note: Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle.
Note: Do not depress the brake pedal during procedure.
  1. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming mode. (Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car.)
  2. Within 20 seconds press any button on the first keyless remote to be programmed. Door locks will cycle to confirm programming. If you only have one remote then skip to step 4.
  3. Within 20 seconds, press any button on the second keyless remote. Door locks will cycle again to confirm programming. Repeat step 3. For all other remotes.
  4. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Procedure #2Note: Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle.1Fasten seat belts and close all doors.
  5. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 4 times within 6 seconds, with the 4th time ending in RUN. (Off is the position where you can remove your key, RUN is the position just shy of starting your car.)
  6. Turn ignition to OFF. Acoustic signal will sound and system warning lamp will illuminate to confirm programming mode.
  7. Within 10 seconds, press and hold any button on the first keyless remote. Wait for acoustic sound and warning lamp to flash (confirming programming) then release button on remote. Wait 2 seconds but within 10 seconds repeat step 4. For all other remotes. If you only have one remote then continue to step 5.
  8. Turn ignition to Crank or wait 10 seconds to end programming mode.
Make sure you have a spare key fob too. You can save a bunch of money ordering a spare key fob online at:

Reset anti theft system for 2006 ford five hundred

Ford PATS doesn't have a reset like GM. First try a different key and disconnect all electronic devices in the car like phone charger, GPS, dash cam, etc. If that doesn't work, you'll have to get the trouble codes read

Security light keeps blinking in my five hundred and the car will not turn over. It cranked fine an hr ago, but now nothing

Try and disconnect the battery for ten minutes. During that ten minutes, take some sand paper, and scrub down every terminal metal surface on that battery and the cables to bright and shiny. Then, rehook the battery. Put the key in the ignition, and let it set for 20 minutes. I think that will get it going again.
