The antilock brakes on my 97 Chevy K1500 seem to operate all the time except without the vibration noise. It feels like I am not going to get stopped in time at stop lights. The antilock dash indicator was not on. I pulled the fuse and now stopping is normal just dont have an antilock system anymore.
Plug it back in and bleed your brakes dude.
I had the same issue. Its one of the wheel speed sensors. To find out whitch one you would have to have someone hook up a scanner to see whitch is slipping. I just ripped out the fuse myself and am just driving it like that.
1997 chevy z-71 anti-lock breaks touchey and come on at slow speed.almost like there hanging up. come on and increase stopping distance.

I am a little confused since they work perfectly without the antilock fuse installed.
Its one of the wheel speed sensors. I have the same truck with the same problem. Ended up Ripping out the ABS fuse also and just left it like that.
I have the same issue on my 1996 chevy silverado k1500. i changed the sensors and it didnt make a difference. Chevy must have a major recall issue on their hands but wont admit it.
