Land Rover Disco II Battery/Alarm/Starter

I had a Disco II in storage (therefore a dead battery occured) and when a jump was attempted, the alarm system would not allow for the starter kick into action.

We then let the battery fully charge and then attempted a start, now no alarm sounds (b/c we unlocked with the remote) but now we have no response when the key is turned.

Please help, as we are trying to ship the vehicle in the next 24 hours and I am reconsidering....Thanks for everyone's time!

Check all fuses and fuseable links, which are those box style fuses with clear tops. When a fuse able link blows, the truck won't start ive run in to this on a couple of DIIs in the past.

Landrover alarm who stop going off

Inserting the key in the ignition and turning it on can work sometimes, but do you not have a remote for the alarm? Check the battery in the actual remote if you do have one. the alarm sounds as if (by your description) it has a back up battery, if so, youll have to locate IT and disconnect it, and that should reset the alarm. Without details, its shots in the dark here. Learn your vehicle, and contact a dealer to speak with someone who Should know his product. If your attempting to steal the vehicle as we speak, then I suggest you just run. ;O)

My battery died on my 96 land rover disco and now i can't even jump start it the alarm keeps going off. Also changed my fuses but my brake lights keep going out what do i do

you've got to get the truck to a dealer so they can disable the alarm with their computer. also have them diagnose the bad wiring it sounds like you've got with the lights, which is a good culprit for draining your battery.

The starter might be dragging. If you crank a motor too much with a low battery it damages the starter or you could just have a bad connection.Check both battery terminals are tight and check all earth connections.

First check your battery and connections. There are two alarm units , your dealer will be able to read the fault codes and advise you on what to do.I don't think it's wise to expose the security of your vehicle on line.
