Ok.If idle are low and engine stall sometime and power and acceleration is ok pls forget about fuel filter. First you need to check air filter for heavy clogging and if it is ok,then clean inner butterfly of throttle body with WD40 for example. Then you probably will get a little high RPM.To solve this "Idle air volume learning" procedure must be done either with scan tool or manually. If it doesn't solve the problem please send me output signal voltage from MAFS (air flow sensor)

The idle RPM is too high
or its just too cold,
how cold is it outdoors?
idle speeds cold can be about 1500 RPM/ cold.
and will ****.
it jerks because you are taking 0 torque from engine
and the sending that to a stalled rear axle.
this cause a ****, that is why the park lock out requires Brakes on
so yo dont run over things.

Parking mechanism is mechanical in nature. Always apply foot brake when shifting from Park to R, N or D. You would feel jerk when:

- Car is parked on slope.

- Idle speed is high.

- Transmission oil level too low or high.

(and if there is a delay before the engine loads down from PN to drive. try anothe car, take note of normal delay, now yours...?????? A/T tranny is complex with over 50 possilble squacks. Hello I've 2013 Automatic Honda Civic(56kclicks) when I park it on an incline with the E Break on, it does not jerk while I shift from Parking to Reverse but it does when I don't put the E Break on

When you have the E brake on the weight of the car is being held by the E brake. When you park the car in park and no E brake on, the weight of the car is loaded onto the drive train and gearbox.
The jerk (and clunk) is the preload being released from the drive train. Not good for your transmission and a bad way to leave a car parked.

Pontiac sunfire 2001 auto-trans 2.2L 3 speeds Engine Jerks Hard

What kind of automatic transmission have you used?
You need the Dexron IV or higher grade.
See your automatic transmissions specifications in the owner's manual.

Hope it helps.

I have a 98 saturn sl1 and when shifting gears(park -drive) its jerks a bit. what does this means?

That can be a mount, but you would of said it jerks at all time from park to drive and when your driving. and also reverse.Going from park to drive is there a pause and do you hear a buzz noise then a gear change. If you did that would be the solenoid. So here it is from park to drive and the RPM is in range this is known also as a harsh up shift, it is mechanical in nature the clutch pack is taking more pressure than it need to achieve a gear change. In other word your transmission is mechanically worn

I have an 04 hyundai elantra and it jerks when i drive, i took it to the shop and no codes came up and no check engine light came up. My car needs a fuel pump could this be why the car jerking? And when...

I would check the transmission fluid. It may need changed and the filter changed. Perhaps you are not getting a good spark from your spark plugs or coils. Has it been awhile since you had a tune up?

Jerks hard when you put in drive or park

Hi,

Check your transmission fluid levels, if this is ok it may need a transmission fluid change/service.

If it is still persistent after that then you will need to get your bands inside the transmission re tighten or replaced.

Hope this helped.

Thanks
