Lately I've noticed that I have to shake the key inside the ignition to start the car, I will turn the key to start but nothing happens unless I shake the key up and down then the car will start up just fine.
I've replaced the starter, but I don't think that is the problem.
I have the same problem with my 97 model. The metal cylinder inside the keyswitch is going bad. about 150 bucks at your local autozone. you can access it by taking the four screws out of the plastic underneith the steering wheel. Im just to broke to go by one so i keep shaking my key^^

Your problem is not with the starter, the problem is with your ignition switch. at the back of ignition switch is a hard plastic that contains the wire. here in the philippines you can buy that part alone but in your case i think it's not available so you have to change the ignition switch as a whole.

Does the check engine light go OUT while cranking? If not , if it stays ON, you've got a bad crankshaft position sensor. These can fail with intermittent no starts. So just when you have it towed it, it'll start working again. Check engine light is supposed to go OUT if it's getting good signal from the sensor.
Sounds like a short in the ignition switch. Next time it does it, try shaking and turning the steering wheel while you're turning the key to start. If this doesn't work, try cycling the switch on and off several times. Chances are, this is your problem.
