My 2007 Nissan Murano SL has been having issues starting since the weather has been getting colder. The engine will turn over and start for approximately two seconds and then it dies. If you try to start it again it just cranks and does not start. Checked the Mass air flow sensor for moisture and issues still occur. When I park it in the garage it has no problems starting. Fuel mileage has maintained.

SOURCE: 2003 Nissan Murano dies after cranking the ignition

Cause could be a few things, are you in a damp climate? If so I would suggest getting a can of silicon spray and spray all of the wiring in the engine compartment. This happened to me with a Volvo and this solved my problem.

SOURCE: 000 NISSAN Xterra -- after warming up, loses RPM by 500-1000..... have replaced ignition wires and distributor, checked mass air flow sensor and OK.....

I had a problem on my Nissan Xterra 2000. Symptons sound similar. In my case, it ran fine for a while and then suddenly the engine starts to stumble and lose output. At one point it did not even have enough HP to move. Irregular idling too. Thought it was water in my fuel. Bought water remover from the store and added to gas tank. Problem did not go away. Instead, "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Had to have it towed to the dealer as there was no way the engine could keep up with traffic. Dealer replaced the "Crank Position Sensor" today. Parts $33.00, Labor: $300 (about 3 hrs worth of work). Seems to work fine now but I will wait and see. Dealer also stated that Distributor bearing appears to be noisy and will need to be replaced sooner or later. I will wait for it to go before I fix that.

Sounds like the fuel pump is bad.... I would have the codes read and start there... but my imediate suspicions are the fuel pump.

Nissan Murano 2007- Engine stays on start, but doesn't move

HOW many miles on the engine (REDUX)?/? 3.5L V6 engine? or 2.5 or the Diesel??????????
I'd have to drive IT to know.
let me guess the mech tested the car and it ran OKAY, so says" I can't find the problem. " ( what else")
you never told what the engine does , when it does fail and is Intermittent.
just that engine is ON. (runs)
and car does not move, sometimes.
what matters first, only when it fails, is does ENGINE RPM RISE fast and high when it fails.
see how that works, if it did the transmission is slipping (CVT are not fun here)
2500 RPM when it fails, right foot in to the throttle pedal this is transmission slip (failure)
if RPM are low failed, that is engine failure. (lean burning) or EGR stuck on or other problems , many.

lost engine power. has lots of causes; but this is gas(petrol) answer.

1: engine failing ,top cause , VVT or that chain loud noise? ?
2: spark plugs bad over 100k miles, (not diesel)
3: fueling bad, even bad fuel, or goes lean due to fuel pressure loss.(low) fuel pump weak?

driveLine choices day1, new not told gen 2, 2007 car.

Gasoline:
2.5 L QR25DE I4
3.5 L VQ35DE V6 <<<, seen in USA is it?
Diesel:
2.5 L YD25DDTi I4 no 2010 first

TransmissionCVT (Gasoline)

6-speed automatic (Diesel) 2010 up/

2002 Fb15. Why does it have a problem starting in the morning?

There could be several reasons why your 2002 Nissan FB15 has trouble starting in the morning. Here are a few common causes:
  1. Battery issues: If your battery is weak or old, it may struggle to provide enough power to start the engine, especially in colder temperatures. You can have your battery tested to see if it needs to be replaced.
  2. Fuel system issues: If the fuel system is not functioning properly, your engine may not be getting the fuel it needs to start. This could be caused by a clogged fuel filter, a malfunctioning fuel pump, or a fuel injector issue.
  3. Ignition system issues: If the spark plugs, ignition coils, or other components of the ignition system are worn or damaged, it can make it harder to start the engine. This is especially true in cold weather.
  4. Starter motor issues: If the starter motor is not functioning properly, it may struggle to turn the engine over when you try to start it. This could be caused by a bad starter motor, a faulty starter solenoid, or a loose connection in the starter circuit.
  5. Cold weather: In colder temperatures, the engine may require more fuel and spark to start, which can put additional strain on the battery and other components of the starting system.
If you are unable to identify the cause of the starting issue on your own, it may be best to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic who can diagnose and repair the problem.
