Re: I am trying to find seat release covering battery...
It was a lot easier than I thought just grab a corner and pull up my seat came right out. I felt a little stupid after trying to take trim off and bolts.

Try this for the back seat: Pull the back seat down. Unscrew all the bolts behind the back seats to release it from the brace. Pull the seat back off the rear deck and out of the car. Feel under the seat cushions for release tabs on both sides. Pull the release tabs to loosen the seat cushion. Push the seat belt buckles into the holes to prevent the seat from getting caught up in the seat cushion
The interior fuse box in a Pontiac Bonneville is underneath the backseat on the driver's side.
To remove the rear seat cushion:
1. Pull up on the front of the cushion to release the
front hooks.
2. Pull the cushion up and out toward the front of
the vehicle.
To reinstall the rear seat cushion:
1. Buckle the center passenger position safety belt, then
route the safety belts through the proper slots in the
seat cushion. Don't let the safety belts get twisted.
2. Slide the rear of the cushion up and under the
seatback so the rear - locating guides hook into the
wire loops on the back frame.
3. With the seat cushion lowered, push rearward and
then press down on the seat cushion until the spring
locks on both ends engage.
4. Check to make sure the safety belts are properly
routed and that no portion of any safety belt is
trapped under the seat. Also make sure the seat
cushion is secured.
Notice:
The battery and main fuse blocks are located
under the rear seat cushion. The battery's ground
terminal and some relay wires are exposed.
To help avoid damage to the battery and wires,
be careful when removing or reinstalling the seat
cushion. Do not remove covers from covered
parts. Do not store anything under the seat, as
objects could touch exposed wires and cause
a short.
I believe you do this in this order. Roll windows down, release the latch at the top of the windshield, raise the front of the top, release rear cover by pulling the latch near the rear seat, Pull up the back of the top and then pull up on the rear cover. The back of the top should now fit into the opening under the rear cover. Continue to fold the top into this space. Push down on the rear cover to lock (won't be able to open trunk if not engaged.) To raise it, release rear latch cover, open rear cover and pull top out of opening. Raise rear of top so you are able to now close the rear cover, set rear of top down on cover and then pull fron of top down and engage the fraont latch. Hoe that helps.
Be sure that your model has fold down rear seats...you should see the seperation around both rear seats...if equipped, the fold down release is located at the top corner of each rear seat...pull the lever up to release...if your model does not have the fold down option...you will need to remove the rear seat...remove the lower cushions first...look on the lower front of the seats for hold down bolts...second you will need to remove the top of the rear seat...hold down bolts are at the bottom of the top cushion...after removing the bolts (one each side) you need to push up on the cushion to remove...this will then allow access to the trunk...find the trunk latch and try to release by twisting the latch cable...Hope this helps...
If Im not mistaken the battery is under the rear seat bottom on the passenger side of the car there should be a release handle or a access panel that will allow you to move the seat bottom to get to the battery. hope this gives you sopme help.
Release the two latches at the front of the seat cushion (pull back on the latches to release the front of the cushion).
Remove the seat cushion bolt and remove the cushion (it’s roughly in the center. You have to insert a socket extension between the back and bottom seat cushions to take it out, after you find it by pressuring the bottom cushion and looking back in there).
Remove the bolts (each side) securing the seat side bolsters (they are easy to see once the bottom cushion is removed), then remove the side bolters (gently release the clips that hold them in).
Pull the seat forward, then remove the fasteners securing the seat hinge (seat pivot bracket) and remove the seat backs.
it is not designed to be removed. It is designed to slide back and forth as needed.
