Remove the 2 license lamp screws from outside, above the lic.plate then from insidethe trunk pull up the lic.lamp housing and replace the bulb.it should pull straight out

MY 99 Alero's license bulbs are accessed from the exterior of the trunk. Lifting the trunk made for easier access though. Phillips head for the two screws, then pull out the socket and twist to open. The old bulb pulls strait out (can be rather stuck sometimes). Plug in your bulb & put it all back together! If a young lady like me can do it, Im sure anyone googling this like I just did, can pull it off no probs! :) Good luck all!

Problem with the license plate lamp and the trailer connector.

It's possible these are two separate problems. You will have to find out why the power is not reaching the license plate lamp assembly, and this means tracing the circuit. Check for power and ground at the lamp. You will have to identify the correct wires and follow them back toward the fuse to find the problem. A wiring diagram will make it much easier to solve.
Same with the trailer connector. If it's not working, I assume you mean there is no power when you plug in your trailer. You will have to figure out which wire is supposed to supply battery voltage and why it isn't. Are there any broken wires? Corrosion? Does the trailer connector have any connection to the license plate lamps? (It shouldn't.)

How do I change my license plate bulb?

{: ) You need to remove first the screws from the license lamp, afterwards you can remove the license lamp from the rear compartment lid. Then ypu have to remove the bulb/socket from the license lamp by rotating counterclockwise. You may remove now the bulb from its socket ( if required).

2000 Buick Lesabre custom liscense plate bulb

kind of tricky, took me an hour to get it figured out, but you got to opend the trunk and take out the 10 or so 10mm nuts sticking out of the backside of the lid, then the whole solid piece where the lights are on the back will slide off, then you can change the bulbs above the license plate and put it all back together

How do you change the license plate light bulb

OK>>> it is very cold here, but nonetheless..I went outside to check on my Oldsmobile for your benefit....On mine (I can't guarantee it is the same for all of the vehicles listed above). If you are looking at the license plate, LOOK UP and you should see the bulb and whatever encasing is there. Mine is in a tube and it is attached with (2) mini bolts that will need to come out first, then it just looks like a simple matter of disconnecting the electrical plug, taking out the old bulb and putting the new one in. I hope this helps someone....
