It can take a while for the propane to get to the stove. ( 20 seconds maybe ) All the air has to bleed out of the line first. Also , if you have 2 tanks , there could be a selector switch on the regulator where the 2 tank hoses come in , that has to be selected to the tank that you have opened the valve on.

You should be able to hear the pump in the tank running. If you don't check the fuel pump relay. If you hear the pump running then the line/filter could be plugged. The white relay is the tank selector relay, the green relay is the fuel pump relay. If the green relay is bad you will have a bad time getting the replacement. The new relays from the dealer and parts stores are all 5 pin. The green relay is a 4 pin.
Also your genset probably has a pump that pulls from that tank on its own.
