I took my 1998 Isuzu Rodeo to a repair shop to get the transmission replaced and the mechanics "accidently" some how broke my green wire on my neutral safety switch (they never told me it was broken. I took my Rodeo to another mechanic and he showed me the wire) anyway, I'm just trying to find out what this wire is and what purpose it serves.

Gas cap isn't on right. Remove and retighten. Turn it at least 5 times.

SOURCE: 2002 isuzu rodeo won't start

Good day;
the clutch switch is located on the clutch pedal support, if you put your hand on the clutch pedal run your hand up and the switch will be at the top. now if you are going to replace this switch I would try to adjust the switch first the amount of time it takes and this would confirm that it's the switch. ensure clutch pedal is fully returned, disconnect the electrical connector from the switch. loosen lock nut and tighten clutch switch by hand until switch is firmly against clutch lever. back the switch out 1/2 turn, the switch plunger should extend .02-.06" (.5-1.5 mm).
hope this helps

Cheers

What is the code p1870 on my 2000 isuzu rodeo and approximately how much for repairs

code p 1870 refers to AT---component slipping===causes mechanical fault
this could be a band or clutch problem and could possibly be a matter of adjustment , fluid change or filter clean
I would take it to an accredited auto transmission specialist( only-no local mechanic ), have them do a proper diagnosis and quote and ask will a fluid change and adjustment when the pan is off fix the problem
if could be a band piston seal failure or low oil pressure from a failing pressure regulator
cannot suggest repair costs until you know exactly is wrong and that will be determined when the pan is off and the internals can be inspected

1998 Isuzu Rodeo Drivers Outside Door Handle doesn't work

The door skin needs to be removed you will need 1/4" drive ratchet, extensions, metric box end wrenches, a long needle nose pliers, screw drivers,a pro pick set and some mechanical ability, verify the linkage is intact, if it is you probably have a broken handle, if the outer handle is broke E-Bay has them new and used or you can go the dealer route. the time to repair is usually 1 to 2 hours. 1998 isuzu transmission leak. an estimate of the cost for repair is what I am interested in?

This is one that someone is actually going to have to visually inspect. No one can give you an estimate without actually seeing where it's leaking from. Find a good competent shop nearby and have them look at it.

I have 1998 isuzu rodeo 3.2 v6 with automatic transmission the check engine light is on its idling rough you can smell gas fumes

After having check lights on vehicles for 31 years, with the new 2011's coming out, I assume your well educated and know what to do.
If you do not not repair your own vehicles, and know todays technology,you should be off to the nearest repair shop, within a couple of days of ANY Lights coming on.
Got to get the codes,then follow a diagnostic chart or process to repair your isssues. And-- NO--Codes-- do not tell you what to replace, on any OBD2 System (1996 thru2011)
