Under the dashboard on the passenger side you will see the blower motor. Near the blower motor inside the air duct is the resistor. It should be held in place by two screws. Hope this helps. Good luck

The blower motor stops every where, when u shut it off, motor only works on high speed

You probaly have a bad switch or resisitor.Google your car and blower resistor and you should be able to know where it is and then replace it. If that doesn't work, then your switch is bad.

My lower fan speed don't work except for the high, the fan high speed stay highest

Hello sanjuis24
It sounds like you've got a bad blower motor resistor. The resistor is located under the right side of
the dash at the blower motor. A new resistor is not very expensive and it's a fairly easy DIY.
Hope this is helpful

I only get the fan to work on high speed, the lower speeds do not work

Hi!!
The Blower Motor Resistor also called Manual Temp. Control resistor), is fried, replace. The price with floor console $25 and without floor console $65. here is a pic.

the resistor is located on the blower motor housing, fastened by two screws. It is the part where the electrical plug connects, the plug on the pic. goes to the blower motor.
A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

Fan switch only works on high

It is very likely that the blower motor resistor has burned out. The resistor uses several resistors to drop voltage which drops the fan speed. Since high speed requires no drop in resistance it bypasses all the resisitors. Since none of the lower speeds work I would belt that the resistor for the setting just under high speed has burned out out. since all the other lower speeds use that resistor. Sometimes they will also have a non-serviceable internal fuse that will blow.

Fan only works on high speeds (4-5)

The blower motor speed resistor has gone bad, you can pick one up at most Auto Parts store like Auto Zone or your local GM dealer. The resistor is located by your blower motor under the dash behind your glove box.
Auto Zone and the dealer can give you the instructions to getting the job done and best to replace the wire harness also.
Thank you for using Fixya and be safe

You need a resistor pack, which is likely located in the air box, near the blower motor.

BLOWER RESISTOR BAD FAN ONLY RUNS @ HIGH SPEED

Chevrolet 2004 TrailBlazer

Look next to the blower. You can remove the panel under the passenger side. Go through the glove box and move it down out of the way to access the electrical connector. Then remove two bolts and the electrical connector.
