Read the owners manual or call the V.W. service department. sound like you need to clean the filter. If you ignore the warning more then 3x you will cause damage and it will be costly.

Hello. The DPF is a Catalytic Converter for diesel engines. Traditional Catalytic Convertors are used in Gas Engines. The dealer gave you a "Dealer Specific" engine code. If you used a regular code reader you would see code P2002, which means. Error Code P2002 is defined as Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency below Threshold Bank 1, which refers to an issue in the efficiency of the particulate filter in the exhaust, which is most likely caused by faulty filter or sensor, or exhaust leak.
The garage is trying to provide you with a quick estimate. The Dealer follows test procedures that Toyota makes available to their technicians. There is a lot going on here and there may be more to come. Depending on mileage, on-time maintenance, condition of fuel system (fuel pressure or injector failure) and engine (blow-by and compression). Your Particulate filter may be fine (electrical component failure), may have wore out or was plugged up due to an engine issue (Fuel injector/s or oil consumption). I hope this helps. Please write back if you have more questions.

Passat 2006 2.0 tdi 140 engine won't start dash warning says either "engine fault, garage" or "low oil pressure".

Exhaust pressure sensor a possibility if it has a DPF (diesel particulate filter). Has it had its fuel pump recall, the oil pressure light could be just the constant cranking and running the battery low.

Warning lamp flashing warning lamp shaped like a coiled spring started flashing. causing car to stutter badly. light went out when i restarted car.

Hi, that symbol is the MIL (engine check light) on the diesel cars. You probably have an intermittant fault, if you find someone with an EOBD code reader - which most garages have. They will be able to read the fault code which will have been stored relating to your fault.
Hope that helps Matt...
P.S If the fault relates to the EGR valve speak with your VW retailer as the car may need a (free I think) software update.

"emissions garage" warning light

this could be due to a large variety of possible different faults, the only way to tell is to take to a garage for it to be plugged in to a diagnostic code reader. Not always serious, somtimes as simple as an engine coolant temperature sensor fault, cheap to buy and quick to replace.

Passat 2.0 tdi se 06 engine warning light on emissions garage

If light is on at start up its usually a glow plug gone .Won't make any differance to driving. You should get a diagnostic scan done which will tell you which plug is at fault.
