Alot of people dont know about the pulsater located in the tank attached to the fuel pump. It will fail after age and many additives (any thing with ethonol) like dry gas will cause the seals in it to rot!!! Just replace it or just swap it with a piece of hose. Hope this helps ive had to do it twice (on an 85 & 1991 trans am)

You must not add gas, you must drain all the gas from the tank and fuel pump and clean the carburator also the spark plugs. then put a new gas.

I would say a bad Fuel Pump. It's in the gas tank. You can get a whole drop in setup for about $100 +- on ebay. U tube for installation, Be careful.

2002 Pontiac Firebird acts like it ran out of gas and now won't even start. Could it be fuel pump or something else. Service engine soon light also comes on occasionally due to emmisions sensor fr

with the key on engine off listen to fuel pump,if you can not hear the pump winning ,the pump is bad

if you can hear it,it might be working but create enough pressure
you can rent a fuel pressure gauge from auto store and check the fuel pressure

Why won't my car stay running after it ran out of gas

Most newer cars are very sensitive to being ran low on gas. The fuel pump is in the tank and relies on fuel to cool it down. Your fuel pump is now probably not pumping the required pressure for the fuel injection system to work properly (or at all).

You may have loaded a fuel line or connector up with contaminants. What else is happening during the second or 3rd day of running? Is it running low on fuel? Try to make a list of your gauge set! It only makes sense.
