I have a 1992 Chevey 6.5 turbo disiel 5 speed over drive. After hauling a heavey load my truck wont go into gear. I can only put it in gear when the truck is off and have to shift on compression. Has my clutch went out or could it be my slave cylender. How do i go about ckecking it.
Chances are pretty good your clutch is toast ! If your truck has a hydraulic clutch , in which mine doesn't , get a friend to pull the boot off of the clutch fork , and with a light , make sure it is disengaging the clutch at all . If you have a mechanical clutch , simply adjust it out til the problem goes away . Look forward to a new clutch very soon ! good luck !!
