I was driving my 2000 Hyundai Elantra wagon and the gauges, lights, radio etc started going out and wouldnt work. Then when I came to a stop sign it started to die. Finally after trying to get it home, it died before i got there. Now it wont start. Please help me.
Your charging system is not working,so your car is working only on batt. power,when batt.gets weak car will cut off! good chance alter nator is defective! check alt.elect. connections at alt,if con.are good its alt.

The battery light came for just a second when I started to leave, The car was driving ok, then I noticed the wipers werent going very fast and a little bit later, I noticed my dash lights had went out and my radio started messing up. A little bit later, I stepped on the brake and it acted like it wanted to die. The turn signals were not working either. I had turned off the radio and the wipers got really weak. So I turned around to go home and every time I had to stop it acted like it was going to die. About 4 blocks from home it did stop and would not start again. It would not even turn over. It was like the brake lights were draining the electrical.
Also, we recharged the battery today and this evening, it started up, but I am afraid to drive it. Everything was working fine.
Thank you very much for the help. We put in a new alternator and it is running fine.
did batt. light come on before it started problem?now is it turning over when trying to start?
