Applying brakes on 1997 ford F150 causes vehicle to bounce.

There is some vibration felt when applying the brake pedal, and the truck will slow down, but it bounces. Sometimes, if the brakes are applied either very lightly, this can be avoided, and sometimes if while slowing the brakes are applied firmly, the bouncing will also stop. Service tech inspected brake pads and said they were fine, but he didn't drive the vehicle. Rotors on front, drums on back.

Brother-in-law had new rear brakes and drums put on his 150 for the same reason, here they were puting them on wrong, they were puting the washer for the e brake lever on the outside instead of in between, and the were'nt releasing, So use the e brake to stop, if it vibrates with the e brake you eliminated you hydralics.

It is entirely possible that your drums may be out of round (oval shaped) or your disks are in need of turning by a brake shop.

Suggest you take your truck to a shop that specializes in brakes and make sure they test drive it, to verify your complaint. They will be in a better position to properly advise you.

Truck shakes when brake is applied upon slowing down it gets shakier until i let off the brake and pulse the brakes till truck stops

A common cause for the vibration when braking is when front brake pads are replaced, but the brake rotors were not resurfaced smooth. Overtime when braking, the new pad will wear into the rotor that was not cut. The uncut rotor, having high and low spots when turning, will cause the brake pedal to vibrate/pulse when stopping.

1997 Audi A4 Brake Vibration

the only thing i can think of as a problem would be brake pad quality. i would get some from the dealer and fit them. if there is chatter going on it can also be caused by low quality rotors or a bad maching job. have them inspected for integrity.

When i apply my brakes the truck wants to bounce, shake, vibrate, what all could be the problem?

The vibrate and shake can be caused by warpped rotors. If the brakes have high mileage, it's probabply time for new brake pads and rotors.

It sounds like the shifter lock out solenoid has gone bad.It is a solenoid that releases the shifter when you push the brake pedal.

Steering whell shimmies when brakes are applied

A common problem with brakes are the rotors warping, which causes a vibration when applying the brake pedal. The brake pads, clamp down on the brake rotor, which slows the vehicle, and in the process, both items are subjected to very high temperatures. This is what causes the rotors to warp, which in turn creates the vibration you feel.Best solution is to replace the rotors and pads, with new.The calipers, which hold the brake pads, should be checked by the technician to make sure the piston is working properly, and not leaking. The rubber hoses should also be checked,no cracks or leaks, etc.Good luck.
