Our van keeps dieing. At firstwe thought it was water in the gas. then we tried the ignition module and the coil pac. Now we think it might be the fuel pump relay, But we have no clue where its located.

i don't know. please make sure you have fuel and leave the gas cap loose once. my guess is check position of ignition wires, if you had them disconnected. next, if you have them, , i would try using your previous ignition control and then coil.

Either you have ignition component problems...i.e coil pacs, ignition modules, spark plug wires and connections .....or something is wrong with the vehicles timing i.e cam problems , pcm, cam position modules...Have the vehicle put on an analyzer anyway. There may still be a code stored even thought the check engine light did not come on.

Teddydear200, I was running on 4 of 6 coils, the driving and running of the car was ridiculous, I thought my baby was dying. The mechanic suggested the ignition control module, I replaced it and am back to getting up to 90 mph easily and the car runs smoother. Since you've done all that other stuff, give the ignition control module a try as the person above me suggested. I think that really is your problem. - J

Sounds like a bad ignition module. The module does two functions. It runs the ignition coil and also delivers the signal to the ecm to run the injectors. Sounds like it isn't putting out a tach signal.

do you have a diesel or gas engine? if its gas most likely you have a grounded ignition wiring. the short may be intermittent thus it starts then stalls when the voltage supply to the ignition coil is disrupted when the wire gets in contact with earth

Check your fuel pump pressure after it dies, could be a fuel pump. Try hitting the gas tank sometimes it will make the pump start to work again. The fuel pumps are cooled by the fuel in the tank if you run your tank low alot it will overheat the pump and cause the pump to fail.

Replace the wires from the the ingnition module from the coil.

check ignition control module remove and bring to o'reilly auto parts they can test it. also look at bottom of coils to see if clear underside has bubbles if so replace coil

you may have a split hose inside the tank
had the same problem on a 94

The stalling out part makes me want to say you have a bad Torque Converter Clutch lock up solenoid. ( TCC ) They are notorious for that.
A quick and dirty fix is to simply unplug them. It wont really harm anything unplugging it but unplugging it will make the car run a tad bit warmer and your gas mileage will suffer by about 10 mpg.
( I had to do the same thing last summer )

The no spark makes me want to say check the coil pac, ignition module under the coil pac, and the crank position sensor under the coil pac / ignition module assembly which is mounted in the block. All are located centrally on the rear of the engine under the intake manifold. You will likely need to reach them from under neath.
