THE CAM GEARS HAVE A SMALL INDENTION ON THEM THAT LINES UP W THE METAL COVER BEHIND THE GEARS THE CRANK GEAR IS A SMALL DIMPLE BETWEEN THE COUNTER FOR THE POSITION SENSOR A FACTORY BELT HAS TIMING MARK ON IT TO MAKE THE JOB MUCH EASIER

Your cam shaft probably relaxed while the belt was off it's not at all uncommon. It may have been sittin on a hairs edge of an upcomming valvr and it just kicked it over enoughto throw all the timing out.
