SOURCE: How to replace serpentine belts 99' Hyundai Elantra.

you might need to get a prybar or something such long, and try to pry it off the belt, it should go easy right away. It is a spring-inside assembly, and won't brake. There also could be a 3/4 hole in it, look from a side. It's for middle size ratched, it can be used to loosen the tensioner from serp. belt.

SOURCE: check engine light is on in my 2005 Elantra newly maintenanced

Check your engine oil and break oil weather it is in below low level or full, if it has in low level get an engine oil for your car module and pour it. otherwise go to authorized Hyundai service centre and check for it.

2008 hyundai elantra. All lights work on the rear of the car except brake lights. Fuses are good. no power to break lights when break peddal is depresed.

The most widespread Hyundai recall, affecting up to 531,894 2005-2008 Accent, Azera, Elantra, Entourage, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tucson, and Veracruz models, is NHTSA Campaign 09V122000. It is focused on a malfunctioning stop lamp switch that may prevent brake lights from illuminating when the pedal is depressed (the same switch may also cause them to stay lit after the brakes are released).
Owners of affected vehicles may contact Hyundai Customer Service at 1-800-633-5151, call the NHTSA Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or visit SAFERCAR.GOV

I was driving my 1999 hyundai elantra when my battery light and parking brake light came on at the same time. what does this mean? my P-brake isnt on either. but when i do put it on the dash signal gets...

If the battery light is on, your charging system is not working. This may have also caused the brake light to come one. Recommend you replace the alternator and see if that doesn't extinguish both lights. If not, please get back to me.

Brake and battery lights stay on

when both lights stay on with the car running it usually indicates an alternator that is not charging at an acceptable voltage level. check the battery voltage with the car running, if it is under 13.5V you should replace your alternator.

Battery and brake light came on during ride home.

first thing is to check your oil these cars are notorious for having engines that burn oil. the battery and brake light problem i had to take it to the dealer and they wound up relearning the computer i cant remember what exactly they did but it worked. I wound up replacing the engine ran about 3500 dollars. Mine is a v4 and runs like a cream puff I hope its not an engine swap
