Growling from rear end

Take it to a shop that can put it on a rack. Have the brakes and rear bearings inspected. Also have them look at the exhaust system. A growiling noise could indicate a leak before the muffler.

Is it a auto or manuel ****** , but either way it sounds like either the rear bushing is worn or the bearing or even possibly the u-joint .......

Chang your weel bearings

sounds like a wheel bearing if you jack the car up so wheel is off ground and then hold the top and bottom of wheel and try to move it back and forth which ever wheel moves is the bad wheel bearing sometimes though it may not move in this case take it to a local mechanic for further inspection

this sounds like(no pun intended) you have a wheel hub bearing assembly failing. they will start a whirring or humming noise and then a growling or grinding noise the worse they get. from your description it is a rotational noise and gets louder and maybe a higher pitch as the vehicle speed increases. have this checked out right away so no further damage is done. they are not cheap assemblies as most GM and Saturn vehicles have the ABS sensor built into them(if your Vue has ABS).

first rotate the tires see if there is a change. If that does not have a desirable effect there may be a worn wheel bearing,take note if the sound or vibration gets louder as you turn a corner, try left turns as well as right turns if the noise increases it is a wheel bearing.

if growl is faster or slower with speed & changes with speed & turns its a wheel bearing also frt struts may bee weak check other frt end tie rods balls joints c-arm bushing all known to go bad

It is at least one of your wheel bearings. I had all four of mine replaced before 40000 miles I hope that it is under warrantee

Could Be a Hub Bearing,Is it a low pitch growling that gets louder with increased speed??

You need to replace your wheel bearing. Ford Escape bearings usually need changed around 80,000+ miles from my experience.
